Premier Inn Newcastle (Washington)

Our experience at this wonderful , value for money hotel , could not have been better, The newly refurbished rooms are stylish and the shower fantastic!. The staff are both professional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is very good, cooked to order and fresh with lots of variety.

Lovely clean hotel. The breakfast staff are so attentive and friendly. Dave was a joy every morning, thank you. Would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning soon. I often use Premier Inns when on business trips and this certainly is the best I’ve stayed in.

Really lovely stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean. No complaints from us. Staff were friendly. Very happy that the check out time was 12 at no additional cost, this was a lovely surprise.also liked that the TV didn't go above a certain volume. It was the relaxation we needed.

On arrival (at midnight) the receptionist informed us they had given our room to the previous family as their name sounded similar. The receptionist had to move the family out of the room we had booked. And they then had to find us a new room. After 20 mins of shenanigans waiting as the receptionist looked at the computer screen trying to rearrange the guests, we got our room keys. I had to go back to the receptionist to ask for bedding for my son's bed. After they disappeared to the laundry room they returned with a pillow, duvet and duvet cover. No undersheet. I went to ask for an undersheet and also towels for three as the room had been made up for one person. We'd been travelling since school pickup (with a couple of stops that included a delay for food because it was Valentine's Day) so I was just wanting to arrive and rest. It was all a bit of an unnecessary kerfuffle we could have done without.

We had a fantastic weekend the room was a premiere plus room which was fab, especially the little extras like mag safe built into the bedside, the bottles of water in the fridge, the bathroom had a rain shower which was great. The lady on reception I didn’t get her name but she was fantastic always there with a welcoming smile and a quick chat very polite and accommodating she’s a credit to your team.

third stay at Washington Premier Inn - first time with all four of the family - husband and two older boys. Rooms have been recently refurbed so decor and cleanliness was better than average. Actually, room facilities etc far exceeded what you'd expect for the price. I think we paid around £150 for two nights in a family room with breakfast (kids eat free deal). We chose the hotel because of it's location, being central to the various family members we were visiting in South Shields, Durham, Gateshead and Newcastle - it was easy enough to get to and from the A1 but far enough away that there were no issues with traffic noise. Family room was a king bed, a single and put up bed - the put up bed had been placed in between the single and king, meaning three of us would need some acrobatic skill to climb out of the bed without standing on each other - we managed to manoeuvre the put up bed to the end of the other beds meaning it was all a little less claustrophobic and much easier with older boys! Beds were very comfortable. Stand out part of the whole visit was the friendliness of the staff - the two boys were made to feel welcome and were involved rather than being seen as an inconvenience - welcome was clear and kind after a long journey on a Friday evening and staff at breakfast were again, warm and welcoming and joking with the boys. Rooms were quiet through the night, breakfast was plentiful - husband declined a cooked breakfast one morning and was offered porridge so just lovely little bits of extra attention made all the difference. Really hope Premier Inn acknowledge and reward their staff who made a quick weekend away feel a little bit more special.
