Holiday Inn Express Rotherham North, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is basic, functional is the word. Stayed here for one night as visiting relatives in Yorkshire. Reception area was full of very loud people Saturday night. The reception itself isn’t particularly comfy or ambient. A few comfy seats but they were taken up by the big party. Otherwise some uncomfortable seats in a brightly lit area. The 24x7 bar was convenient apart from there was a long wait to be served as they were very thin on the ground. Also, one of the staff didn’t know how to measure out wine! Breakfast was again functional, it did the job. Mushy scrambled eggs anyone??

the places wreaks and is in an awful state after reopening after they housed illegal migrants. staff are incredibly rude, avoid at all cost.

Normally don’t have an issue with Holiday Inn Express, and use all the time when away on business, but this one, well what a disaster. The hotel lacks any soul, it’s cold and unfriendly, staff don’t have customer service skills and appear like customers are an inconvenience to them. The WiFi is terrible, totally unstable and trying to work in my room ended impossible, carpet had stains on it in the bedroom, and for the 3 nights I was staying here, I had a empty body wash in the shower, not replaced. Certainly not a hotel I will recommend to colleagues or return to, such a shame as gives Holiday Inn Express a bad name.

Unfortunately, I didn't read the other reviews before arriving at the hotel, BIG mistake. The man on the desk said he couldn't find my room on the system, I'd booked a twin room. Instead he offered me an accessible room, only staying for one night I agreed to take this room. The lighting was dim and we decided to open the curtains, this meant we could turn off the lights. only we couldn't because the light switch by the bedside lamp was broken. We returned to reception and told them about the light. The nice man apologised and moved us to another room this time on the second floor. In the room we found a double and a sofa bed even though I had asked if it was a proper single bed and was reassured it was. In the bathroom at first glance it looked okay, but when I looked in the shower their was soap scum around the plug hole from a prior customer, Yuck! Also I noticed when washing my hands at the sink the overflow was blocked with scum and who knows what. Because we had places to be, we didn't complain. We came back to the hotel around 10:30pm and it was very quiet in the main area. In the room we put on the TV which was very loud, the remote didn't work and the buttons on the TV didn't work so we turned it off again. The next morning we had a light breakfast and left. We will never book into this hotel again, I would rather pay more and stay at the Premier Inn half a mile down the road.

im an illegal immigrant i was not happy with the room or the pillows they promised me a free penthouse at the hilton hotel in london i felt discriminated against also the wifi did not work so i have demanded a new phone i asked for the i phone 16 and 5 moe for each of my cousins who will be joining me shortly,they apologised for the incovenience so i wont sue them .
