Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago Waukegan

My reservation was prepaid in full in advance. When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was given the run around. They were saying there was no rooms available. Then saying their was no rooms clean. They did not seem knowledgeable. Maybe it was that shift for that day. The hotel was filthy. Mediocre cleaning and/or none at all. I was on the 3rd floor. I was put in an accessible room that I did not request. The furniture was dirty. very visible. Hair visible still in the shower. I didn't trust anything. Didn't have time to change hotels. It was not worth the price at all. I have stayed at this hotel before, but I was in a suite. Didn't seem as bad. Is there new mgmt? They need new carpet. I really want like 50% refunded back. Not a satisfied customer at all. And actually embarrassed because I reserved it for my friend and I like it was going to be great.

We stayed here while we visited six flags great America. It was about 10 minutes away. It was a weekend visit and it was not busy. Room was great, free breakfast was as expected. Pool was clean and the kids enjoyed it. It was not very busy as I expect. This is more of a business hotel so there would be a lot more people during the week. Staff was very nice and courteous.

Heads up, tried to charge me a fee for parking and this was not included on any pages I viewed when signing up. I used my Southwest points and the front desk claimed third party sites don’t advertise it. Folks, this is a suburban hotel and the parking was a regular lot. Seems like they were trying to nickel and dime us….

Avoid! Due to their actions, I charged back my credit card and reported to the Illinois attorney general. I suggest you do the same. They attempted to charge a mandatory parking lot maintennance fee called "parking recapture fee" at checkout. I never was informed of this and would not have booked if I was. Listing an optional self-parking fee on the website does not give you the right to fraudulently charge my credit card for a mandatory parking lot maintenance fee. No, there is no confusion on my end. This is fraud.

Is stay at this hotel several times a year. The accommodations and staff are the best. Special thanks to Tim, he always goes above and beyond to give the best service! I travel alone and I always feel safe when I'm here.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Townplace Suites in Waukegan. It felt like a nearly new hotel. Clean. Quiet. Large, spacious room. Comfortable bed. Free breakfast. I was a bit surprised that there was no housekeeping since that hadn't been communicated when booking. But that was the only surprise during my stay. All in all, a very positive experience.

Pretty much what you would expect from Park City IL. The typical Hampton Inn experience, breakfast undercooked, semi clean rooms with universal toiletries, front desk didn't recognize a Diamond Member, and low and behold a surprise "parking fee" on the bill. When questioned it is for maintenance for their parking lot? There are shopping carts in the lot, Light stands are leaning, so clearly this is a price gauge not a fee going to the maintenance of the parking lot, that they don't tell you about on the website or upon arrival. A nice extra benefit they charge you and stick you with as your leaving. Even when I never parked in their lot and got a ride from a fellow co worker staying at another property. Shameful!

Very clean, friendly staff, the general manager, Hannah Johnson, is truly a hospitality specialist The morning breakfast was top notch Again so clean and appealing foods to eat The fruit was impeccable To top it off I slept fantastic Thanks Hampton Inn!

If I was able to get in the pool I would give it a 4 star!! Please get the green out of the pool so people can use it!! I was there for my daughter’s graduation from the baby boot camp! And we really wanted to just enjoy the pool
