We didn’t go because when I called to make reservations the lady told me that new owners had bad experience with pet owners so they are no longer pet friendly. When I told her that was to bad because we always found it to be one of the cleanliness hotels we’ve stayed in and most were return customers. Her response was “well you should see it now, it’s really really clean”. We won’t be staying here with or without pets. We’ll see how long this for profit proprietorship stays as is.

What a cute, clean place! The sheets were soft, the pillows immaculate, the room was cozy and clean! Going to come back here whenever I can! It'll fortune be our first choice when staying around the area. Close to the bridge and actually took a cute scenic walk to it!

Repeat customer, because it's the cleanest, best kept secret in Mackinac City. The rooms have uniquely crafted shelves & wood work throughout. The staff is wonderful, and what really separates this gem from other small independent motels is their outdoor pool. It's crystal clean, has an 8 ft deep end, and is a great way to start and end your day. If that were to go away, the motel would loose my reason to return.

This motel is within a 1/2 mile of shops, restaurants, and the lake. It gets you away from the hustle and bustle of being right downtown. Checking in and out was very easy and no personal contact was needed. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We did not swim in the pool, but it was nice that it was available. I highly recommend this motel, and will definitely stay again if I ever return to Mackinaw City.

This is the best run small hotel / Airbnb's I have ever stayed with (I travel and I am an Airbnb owner). Text messages were helpful and not excessive. Keypad entry nice and easy. The staff was on top of everything, rooms were super clean, room was a good temp (A/C on) and amenities appreciated. Conversations with Deb were professional and friendly. Felt like home, felt like I was welcome and appreciated. Wish I had stayed longer and will stay here again if I am every back.

Historic little motel near downtown Mackinaw City. We walked downtown from the motel, maybe 5 blocks. Room was one of the cleanest I have stayed in for an older motel. The shuttle for the ferry will pick you up right at the motel and bring you back when you get off the boat. Deb was nice enough to tell us about the dark sky park and we went there on our second evening. We booked already for next year. Pricing was great compared to others in the area.

Brought our family to Mackinaw City for a few days and found this little gem! Spotlessly clean, looks like all new bedding and pillows also. Close enough to walk to town, yes no worries about noise or a lot of traffic. Met Deb the innkeeper, she gave us enough information about the area to keep busy our entire trip! Already booked for next year! Matt & family

I removed my review about new owners no longer allowing pets. I received a message from a manager that there was a mistake on the website/reservation site and only some rooms are pet free. Communication has been difficult though. I have had no response from emails and have had one phone call message. When I tried to call back (hours later) I got a recording with no message option. I hope former owners Mark and Clara are enjoying their retirement : )

I think Mark and Clara might be enjoying a well deserved retirement. I booked a room online and was informed that pets are not allowed AFTER they took my credit card info. I see no cancel option on the booking site. One email is invalid, the other there is no reply. The phone number has a recording that they closed for the season. I will keep trying to reach somebody. Returning guests should know there will be no person to check you in, you receive a code on your phone. New guests should be aware that the glowing reviews are from the hard work and dedication of the previous owners. I hope the new owners take continue to maintain this nice little motel.
