Hampton Inn & Suites Waxahachie

Expectations were either met or exceeded during my one night in a King Suite. Room comfort and space was perfect. Very quiet and relaxing. Excellent front desk service. Short drive into downtown Waxahachie for dining options. Housekeeping was also very good

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and over the last couple of years the new management has let it go. The routine maintenance is not getting done and it is showing. The duvet cover was seriously torn and needed to be replaced, the air conditioning unit appeared to be falling apart (although it worked fine), the fabric on the couch was torn, and who ever tried to paint the ceiling in the bathroom with spray paint did an atrocious job with overspray on the walls and the tile. The place is just not as clean as it used to be.. We have always loved staying here but it is no longer our go to hotel for visiting our family who lives in Waxahachie..

This was our 52 Anniversary trip.We were supposed to have a handicap room...had to ASK FOR IT!Wife almost fell due to wrinkles in carpet, ac didn't work, towel hanger fell off of wall, beds were absolutely horrible like laying on concrete. Due to the horrible beds my WIFE AND I both have back issues. Instead of Staying 3 nights we only stayed one and had to come home. Needless to say I WILL NOT STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!

I really enjoy this hotel. I stay here often. The breakfast is yummy and fresh. The sheets and towels are great too. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool is indoors and heated, so you can swim in it year round. No freezing in the winter or burning in the summer. Finding the entrance is tricky. The GPS will get you there. Don't give up, the hotel is worth the extra effort.

The room was quite small and the air conditioning was very very loud. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and there was built up dirt? crud? in the outside corners of the shower. The shower head was so high that I couldn't reach it and it sprayed in all directions. I probably would not stay there again.

Normally I like Hilton properties. This one is the exception. When I arrived there was no desk staff. I waited for about five minutes before a young lady came out of the kitchen with a bit of an attitude like I was a speedbump in her day and asked if she could help me. She checked me in without thanking me and then went back to her business over in the breakfast kitchen. The decor is very outdated. It feels like a motel six or Econo Lodge. Chipped furniture, rusty shower surround, the baseboards are carpet. The hotel is advertised as 100% non-smoking. My room smelled of cigarette smoke covered up with a very strong air freshener scent. The bed was reasonably comfortable. I had a king size bed and the pillows were very small. They were also old and the stuffing was in chunks. About 6 o’clock in the morning I was awakened by a sulfur smell. I can only presume it was from eggs cooking in the kitchen. When I could not find the ice machine I again had to find the young lady that was supposed to be working the desk. She was sitting over in the lounge on her computer. Again, in an unfriendly way, as if I were bothering her, she explained that the only ice machine is up on the third floor. I was on the first floor. She went back to her computer work but then about 10 seconds later called me back and told me she could get me some ice out of the kitchen. Some updates are in order, including an update of the evening desk staff. I would not recommend this particular location.

Good stay at Hampton Inn in the whirlpool suite. The hotel is a bit dated but the room was very spacious with a living room seating area, whirlpool, and bed in one large room. Whirlpool was ok but jets were not that powerful - more like an oversized bathtub than whirlpool. Lots of grab handles to help exit the tub. The room also had a refrigerator near the entrance door. The sink is separate from the toilet and shower (bathroom). However, the light in the bathroom automatically turned on when anyone walked in. We could not figure how to disable that feature so we just had to keep the bathroom door shut. Breakfast was standard Hampton Inn. 2 waffle stations - Texas shaped or 4 mini waffles. The location is a bit difficult to access from the highway, but we could easily see the sign. Good for a one night stay, but wouldn't be my first choice for longer stays or business trips. Larger plugs for charging or electronic devices did not fit into small plugs on lamps. Had to find the walk outlets instead. Also the whirlpool suites are located on the end of the building. Nice view, but a long walk to the elevator.

Great experience at this hotel. We were part of the filming of the five thousand with the television series The Chosen and hotels were booked all around the area. We mis calculated how many days we would be in the area and needed to add a couple of nights. We moved our room from Mansfield to Waxahachie and would recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly and even interested in how the filming was going. Great stay.

Solid choice when traveling - affordable price, good service, clean rooms, quiet hotel with friendly employees. A few restaurants around and a good location in general. Cant go wrong with it. Will be back.
