Please take this review seriously. After 15 years on the road and staying in thousands of hotels, this has been, by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had — both in terms of service and cleanliness. Upon arriving at 9:00 PM, I was not greeted with the usual check-in hospitality. Instead, the receptionist immediately asked me — still in my work clothes — to inspect a broken shower curtain in someone else’s room. When I explained that I was a guest, not staff, he handed me the phone to speak with the manager, who proceeded to ask if I could return the next day to fix it. Yes — I was asked to perform maintenance work for a hotel I was paying to stay at. Once I finally got into my room, things only got worse. There were visible blood stains on the pillows and bedding, as well as on the uncovered mattress. The “complimentary” bottled water had already been opened. Used shower gel containers were still in the bathroom, and there were exposed wires both in the bathroom and the bedroom. I ended up sleeping on the floor because I didn’t feel safe using the bed. The following morning, I checked out early with all my belongings, deciding not to stay the second night I had paid for. Around 10 AM, I received a call from the manager again — not to address my complaints, but to ask if I would come back and fix the broken shower curtain. When I refused, I was met with a lengthy and condescending speech about how disappointed they were in me, followed by a string of excuses and outright lies when I raised all the issues I had faced as a paying guest. Summary: Unprofessional service Poorly spoken receptionist Inappropriate requests to perform maintenance Extremely unhygienic bedding and mattress Opened bottled water and used toiletries Exposed electrical wiring Avoid this hotel at all costs. Spend the extra £5 to stay at a cleaner, safer, and more professional place down the road. Your safety and sanity are worth it.
