As a cyclist I was very happy with my two day stay here. Gregory gave me a very warm welcome and the room - as the whole house - was one of the cleanest I have ever seen. I booked the smallest room which is still big enough including a separate bathroom and again à separate toilet, all three separated by the room s entrance hall. The house is surrounded by a big garden and along a street where almost no cars pass. Perfect tranquility at night and during the day. Breakfast includes a big bowl of fresh fruit and amazing home made vanilla yoghurt. Also the jams are home made. On Sunday we got rice pudding. The wide environment (50km in most directions) is great for cyclists wanting to combine flat roads, small hills and nice scenery.

The accommodation was exceptional! The hosts Gregory and Bernd are extremely friendly. Gregory's dinner of local specialties was superb, and the breakfast exceeded our expectations. The quiet location and beautiful surroundings with a natural park are ideal for relaxation. There's a huge garden, and the spacious apartments are charming and comfortable. Overall, highly recommendable. We will surely stay here again on our next business trip.

Perfect location, incredible property, best breakfast ever and wonderful hosts - absolute dream place. We’ve been staying 3 times at La Castagnere, it’s our go to place when visiting the North, very well located, close to Lille, Ypres and yet secluded in nature. Quiet, and all the amenities for a relaxing stay.

What we were looking for was off street parking, what we found was a gorgeous country manor. Everything was perfect and then some. The bed was perfect, the bathroom was roomy, modern and had all the amenities. There was an inviting coffee/tea and snack nook available at all times. The breakfast was excellent. Our hosts were welcoming and accommodating. To top it off, the property was truly amazing, with a beautiful garden. We hope to be back.

One night stay in a beautiful residence It is a beautiful and well-kept property. It is very quiet. The breakfast was wonderful, with excellent quality and the hosts were kind. There was also a nice complimentary bar for drinks, coffee, and cookies.

This place and hosts are simply Fabulous and surpassed our expectations! Let's start with the hosts. Bern and Gregory are amazing and from the instant we arrived (two adults and two children 10 and 13) at the Castagnere they made us feel welcome and relaxed. And before arriving, they have been super helpful with the booking process. The Castagnere is a delightful little building in some wonderful garden settings within a gorgeous high end residential area. The house is decorated in a beautiful and classy way, to convey an immediate sense of understated elegance. The rooms are spacious and there is everything you will require during your stay. Everything is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. As a perfect cherry on the cake, the breakfast was an experience in its own right with an array of homemade delicacies and organic local produce to rival a 3 star Michelin standard 😄 An elegant oasis in the French countryside!
