If you are going to Galena, the Farmers Guest House is the place to stay! From the moment we walked in the door we were welcomed with such friendliness. Mark took our bags upstairs to our room while Luke checked us in. Elaine then showed us around and told us how breakfast and the wine and cheese were served. Our room had everything we could have needed and we had two great nights sleeping in the comfortable bed. Anything that we could want was supplied in the room. Breakfast both days was delicious and Elaine kindly shared her recipe for baked eggs with us! We spent both days exploring beautiful and historic Galena and then walked home to a delightful wine and cheese spread that also included some extra treats. Mark, Elaine and Luke are so personable and a delight to talk to! We look forward to returning to the Farmers Guest House!

We loved our stay at Farmer's Guest House. The hosts are very welcoming, providing cookies, wine, and cheese and crackers. The breakfast is delicious. It was very clean, and the beds comfortable. Excellent service. We would definitely recommend!

Just spectacular in every way! I mean, Mark walked out and stopped traffic on Rt 20 so we could walk across the street with our luggage! The owners are enthusiastic, kind and wonderfully obsessive about details. We felt like a million bucks! We stayed in Annie's Cottage and felt we could absolutely live there forever.

Wow, what a great experience! The hospitality from Mark, Luke, and Elaine was excellent! Our room was immaculately clean and comfortable; breakfast was absolutely delicious; and the amenities were amazing. Highly, highly, highly recommend Farmers Guest House!

The room was very comfortable. The beds were great. The hosts Luke and Elaine were amazing, full of energy and great breakfast! And Mark was an absolute asset. Great to talk to. But I think their amenities were awesome ,a full bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and homemade cookies every night, champagne in the morning with your orange juice,If you wanted it, We truly appreciated everything and had a great time. Not to mention how close to downtown shops they were We never had to use our car once during the weekend

We had a great time. The staff was friendly, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The bed and breakfast is tastefully decorated, clean, and within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Grant Park is nearby and well kept and a pleasant place to relax. We took the trolley tour which was well worth the cost. The breakfast was tasty and well presented.

The staff is so accommodating and friendly. They take excellent care of you. The rooms are comfortalble and clean. The breakfast is amazing and very filling. You won't need to eat again until dinner. All the extra perks of wine, cheese and cookies are a special treat. I've been here before and I'd stay again. The convience of walking to the main street for shopping is also a big plus!

This was the first time I have been to Galena, and I can honestly say my favorite part about the entire trip - was the time I spent at Farmers Guest House! The hosts Mark, Luke and Elaine are absolutely incredible at what they do. They made the experience so special with just the perfect amount of interaction. The breakfasts were out of this world!!! So delicious. If you need anything you can write it on a card you hang on your door - and it magically appears in no time at all. Cheese, crackers, wine and a sweet treat in the evening. Such wonderful hosts, very clean, comfortable and quiet. It was absolutely perfect! I will definitely return! Hands down - this has to be one of the very best things Galena has to offer :) Thank you Mark, Luke and Elaine for such a memorable experience.

Stayed in the first-floor suite... that avoids climbing/descending the steep stairs to the second floor where most rooms are located. Nothing unusual for a building in service since 1867. Excellent breakfast room with many smaller tables in a large room so that there is no enforced conviviality required when a B&B sits everyone at a single communal table. Breakfast itself was fine... including larger than usual orange juice serving. Located on a busy two lane (under construction) street one street down from the main Galena downtown. No reserved parking at the B&B itself. Parking is across the street in a public parking area. Space was available during our 2-night mid-week visit. Might be a challenge sometimes. Galena is noted among other things for U.S. Grant connection... at the B&B you'll find Civil War maps and photos abound. Special thanks to Luke for assisting with baggage from the car during our early check-in arrival around noon.
