EuroParcs de Rijp

We recently stayed here with a tour group of parents and rugby players. A picturesque location with canals surrounding, some houses had boathouses, all had parking and outdoor seating areas. The houses were excellent, clean, tidy, comfy beds, basic kitchen needs satisfied. The clubhouse with bar/restaurant was very welcoming and the staff very friendly. The boys made use of the pool and outdoor area for sports. It was well situated to visit Amsterdam and many parents commented on how they may come back again! There are local takeaways, (recommend La Pizzeria!) that deliver to site, and the on site food offering was also excellent.

This is a huge park but each property has it's own outdoor area including a parking space and there are many grass and landscaped areas, canals and lakes to give a feeling of space. The 2 bedroom house was well equipped and clean - there are two separate charges if you need to rent bed linen and towels (no t towel). Unfortunately some of the equipment has never been connected to the electric supply eg the cooker hood and at least one bed side light had no reachable electric socket! The bathroom was dark and had a very very strong air freshner hanging on a towel hook - we put this outside the house as soon as we arrived. The outdoor furniture was very comfortable for eating outside and there was a Parasol. Most of the windows have anti mosquito nets so that you can enjoy the fresh air - we had no aircon. There is an onsite laundry room with each wash load costing 5.50 Euros The weekend staff are so friendly and helpful - they arranged for our missing clothes airer to be delivered and answered general questions that we had. However the weekday staff - we an only assume the lady we spoke to on two or three occasions throughout our stay was part of the Management Team - made it quite clear that we were an interruption - we were placing orders for their bread delivery and had a query about staying an extra night - nothing too difficult and we appreciate that our lack of speaking Dutch can sometimes be a barrier. Dutch people everywhere were always so friendly and helpful which made this lady's attitude difficult to accept - very poor Customer Service. We did not stay the extra night as the Management Lady said it was not an issue for her to deal with and to call *********** (who we made our reservation with) - *********** said it must be booked directly with the site Reception. The outcome was that EuroParcs wanted to charge us 308 Euros for this one additional night - we had already stayed 12 nights - even the *********** assistant was shocked at the price!

We stayed at one of the larger holiday homes (Villa Kleyn Geluk / #414) at EuroParcs De Rijp during the Christmas break. EuroParcs is a Dutch chain of holiday parks and this holiday park is situated in West-Graftdijk within half an hour of Amsterdam and within reach of picturesque Alkmaar (cheese market), beaches, Zaanse Schans, Museum Broekerveiling a and typical Dutch fishing villages such as Volendam, Marken, Edam, etc. De Rijp, a small village close to EuroParcs De Rijp is worth a visit! We checked in advance and were informed that both the restaurant, take-away and small supermarket were closed during our stay and were advised to drive to De Rijp for a food shop (Plus Supermarket). We understand that these facilities are closed during low season but at Christmas and the New Year? Upon arrival, we received an information booklet and key which we picked up at the park reception. Our holiday home was spacious which worked well for our group (5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 en-suite, sauna and 4 toilets). However, we soon learnt that our holiday home was not what we expected it to be. Apart from leaving a small box of dishwasher tablets, bin liners, etc, in kitchen and a stack of bedlinen in downstairs bedroom, the place was far from clean and most probably not inspected before we arrived! When sweeping the floors, we gathered more dust than we wished for. Also, surfaces felt sticky and the place did not smell fresh, resulting that we did some cleaning ourselves before we unpacked … a bottle of bleach and disinfecting wipes (brought from home) came to our rescue. While the place looked relatively new, the finish and usage of cheap material already took its toll: doors that no longer closed (missing lock), broken kitchen drawer, walls with holes/dents caused by the opening of door knobs, loose toilet seat upstairs bathroom, leak in downstairs bathroom, missing router for Internet, cheap shower heads, dirty cushions with holes on sofa, blocked drain in shower of sauna which caused a nasty smell and prevented water from flowing away, missing and broken bedside lamps in upstairs bedrooms … we hope that this cottage will be treated to a spring clean and some needed repairs before new guests will arrive. We did report our findings to reception but since it was Christmas Eve and it seemed we were not the only guests with complaints that came to the reception, our feedback was written down. We were offered extra cleaning but since we already cleaned the place, we did not take them up on the offer. Since the Technical Team did not stop by for a router on Christmas Eve, we went to reception again on Christmas Day and one of the receptionists came to our cottage to drop one off. Also, upon departure, just after 9am (we had to leave at 10am) two cleaning people knocked on our door and asked us when we were planning to leave. We did not appreciate this, also since they waited at a holiday home opposite ours for us to leave and came over before we finis

Wir waren total begeistert über unser gemütliches und liebevolles Tinyhäuschen. Es fehlte an nichts. Draußen liefen Enten, sehr viel ruhige Natur, ein wunderschöner Ferienpark. Jeden Abend haben wir uns gefreut, in unser zu Hause zu kommen. Danke vielmals für den wunderschönen Park und unser Häuschen.

C'est un parc sympa un peu le même genre que Center parc mais en plus petit . Nous y sommes restés quatre jours . Le parc est situé idéalement près d' Amsterdam et près des moulins de Zaanse schans . En famille c'est idéal il y a une piscine extérieure et intérieure , un terrain de tennis et de basket plus des aires de jeux pour enfants et un petit parc animalier. Nous étions dans une tiny house. Attention il faut faire le ménage avant de partir et ce n'est pas indiqué. Le restaurant est trop cher. Prévoir les serviettes également, les draps sont fournis .

Je vous déconseille, certe le lieu est bien pour se détendre être coupé de tout MAIS CEPENDANT c’est le seul avantage, tout est très mal pensé : l’accès à la piscine, la maison est très mal équipée, aucun « accessoires » : savon, torchon, égouttoir ect.. De plus financièrement le logement est accessible mais quel fût ma surprise quand le jour de mon arrivé on me demande une caution de 100€ par personnes qui n’était pas mentionné lors de ma réservation, bien évidemment à ce jour presque 2mois après, la caution n’est toujours pas de retour sur mon compte, je penses donc que les prix bas son compensé avec la caution qu’on dépose et qu’on ne reverra jamais.
