The Talbot Inn

A really pleasant hotel, with a bar and restaurant. Our room was large, warm and clean. Breakfast was included and excellent. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Food was reasonably priced and good. Although on a busy main road we couldn’t hear traffic noise.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in July, to attend an event at Blenheim Palace, rooms were very comfortable, the landlord Stuart was very welcoming and even helped my husband when ‘charging’ up the vehicle! We had an evening meal each night, the food was excellent, and the staff were also very friendly and helpful. If we are ever in the area again, we won’t hesitate to book this accomodation.

If you're looking for somewhere welcoming, clean, comfortable and with delicious food then don't hesitate to book a stay here. We arrived tired and hungry and were so pleased we decided to spend the evening eating and relaxing at this lovely pub. Breakfast was plentiful with selection of toast, cereal, fruit, pastries, yoghurt and cooked (we opted for continental as we were still so full from the night before!). If we need accommodation in this area again we would definitely return.

The room was extremely clean, spacious and well equipped with a very comfortable bed, wardrobe and lovely bathroom. The Breakfast was wonderful (best bacon i have tasted in a long time). The restaurant food was excellent with a good choice of menu. Staff were pleasant and friendly.

Amazing dinner with my sister and husband , high quality ingredients cooked to perfection with lots of choice in a lovely laid back proper pub dining experience , Stuart and team you are doing a fantastic job , 👏 make sure to book a table as the venue is very busy understandably

This was a beautiful, tasteful decorated room, bed was super comfy. It was very clean and comfortable. By far the best I have stayed in while travelling around England, Ireland and Scotland. The bathroom was beautiful. Very cozy and warm. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, the staff very nice and accommodating with lots knowledge of surrounding areas. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. 10/10 from me.

This pub was welcoming. The menu was varied and the food was delicious. It was good value. The pub was accessible and only ten minutes from the canal where we were moored up. It had nice decor and was spacious. The staff were friendly, cheerful and efficient.

Didn’t stay here but popped in tonight for some food. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We had a burger, steak and fried brisket with cheesy potatoes - all delicious. Desserts - sticky toffee and white choc Malteser cheesecake - also delicious. Lovely place to enjoy a quiet meal, really nice decor and atmosphere without being pretentious. Will definitely be back to try more and a Sunday lunch very soon. Bit cold for outside seating at the moment but lovely spots when the sun is a little warmer. Thanks for a lovely meal!

I went here with my family for my mums 52nd birthday. The food was amazing. The Panini’s were big and tasted really good. We (my mum and I) had the goats cheese and onion one. My Nan had the small fish and chips. It was massive though so definitely enough for a normal portion. She loved the chips. My Gramp had the special of the day pie which was a lamb one. He loved that it had big chunks of meat and not just full of gravy. He said it was juicy and tender. Best pie he had ever had. My dad had the liver which was cooked to perfection and had very nice sauce. We were so impressed with the food so we all had puddings which were made to order as they were able to take the cherries out the crumble and make a fresh one. It was all to die for especially the cheesecakes 😋😋. Staff were very friendly and the place had a very good atmosphere. This place was recommended by a friend but I will be recommending this place to all my friends. Definitely a place people should go!! Thank you for a good meal, - Jess x
