Hotels/ Inns September 27,28,29, 30 Stayed at Bel and Dragon in Ironbelly Room – part of The George and Dragon Pub Westerham, TN16 1AW Review: A winner in Westerham Ambiance: Origins in 1600’s when the town was a carriage route to London. Quaint, rustic, cozy. All rooms are named after dragons. Room: Ironbelly. King size bed with super comforter. Lots of plug-ins. One desk and chair. The housekeeping staff actually brought in a small table, added a chair and rearranged the room to help us organize our stuff. Bright, airy, clean. No phone or fridge in the room. Windows open into the street. Snacks: They supply a kettle with a great selection of teas (Teapig brand) coffees and chocolates. Also offer a unique treat: a bottle of sloe gin (compliments of the management) with 2 glasses and some distilled water. Nice touch. Bathroom: Great shower but you need to use the bathmat – It was hidden behind the toilet. Just wish they had a shelf for the body wash/shampoo/conditioner or had the bottles set up on the shower wall instead of on the shelf above the sink. The products are from a company called “Bramley”, made in the UK, so they are supporting local suppliers – which I like. Toilet Lighting – regular and bright and a blue light that stays so you can see if you need to make a night time visit to the loo. Central room light has a warm ambiance. Noise level: We did not experience any noisy guests – quite a surprise considering that the room is over the pub. Breakfast/Pub: Great selection. Including the famous Full English Breakfast. Fresh fruit selection on the continental breakfast table along with croissants, cereals and juice. Breakfast was included in our room rate. All Staff were attentive without being fawning and the housekeepers (Hayley and Katherine) altered the room (extra chair and moving the bench) to make it work for us. Access: There is a stairway to the rooms and luckily they have rails. No elevator. Overall: 4 out of 5. Great location and very accommodating staff. ****

In all my years of travelling I would have to say that this is the best, most memorable hotel in which I have ever stayed. Guests are treated like friends staying in a private house. Upon checking in I was shown to my room by a staff member and was blown away by the room. To have a radio playing classical music (my favourite music), to the luxurious appointments, including complimentary gin, everything was perfect in "Ridgeback", my room. Staff are all friendly and helpful and I loved the "Quiet Lounge" with the flagon of Scotch. Meals were superb, and Sean, the young manager could not have been more helpful. I have nothing but praise for this establishment and cannot wait to return.

What an absolutely lovely pub with rooms. So beautifully decorated everywhere - even a pretty little sitting room for guests. We were welcomed warmly by everyone when we arrived on a wet and windy evening! Our room (George) was stunning and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The bar was buzzing and dinner was delicious. We were up early and breakfast was really good too - my yoghurt was particularly delicious! All the staff were friendly and helpful - we really couldn't fault it and look forward to returning soon.

What a lovely stay. As soon as you step into your room you feel calm and relaxed. A beautifully comfy bed, and thoughtful touches like classical music playing on the Robert’s radio as we entered the room meant our cares disappeared as the door closed behind us. The toiletries are Bramley, and smell lovely. The George rooms was a real treat, with room so spread out and furnished with style and taste. The cooked breakfast was yummy too!

Amazing hotel, booked the dinner-inclusive deal and a superior room and was delighted. Friendly staff, large comfortable bedroom which included a free bottle of Sipsmith sloe gin, large bathroom with big bath and shower plus a separate small lounge containing a free full whisky decanter. Part of a small group of six hotels around London so can't wait to try some of the others

This recently refurbished establishment was a real find for us and so we ended up booking a second night. A fantastic bedroom with plenty of space, excellent bed and bedding. A rather nice surprise on the beverage front that shows the staff and management are trying to go the extra mile. A great bar below just added to our enjoyment

We booked the George and Dragon for a family Sunday Lunch with our dog and they gave us a lovely table behind the bar We had roast beef and belly of pork which were all fabulous It is not cheap but the excellent food and drink combined with professional, friendly service make it good value

Stayed here this weekend as had a birthday party nearby. We arrived late as traffic was awful and they were already aware so no issue at all with our lunch booking. Ate on their terrace and the food was great and reasonably priced. The room we had was charming and lacked nothing so had a great stay. Was quiet and had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was perfect as was not a buffet, which i hate, but a few things to choose from on a nearby table to get you started and then your order is taken, so civilised and was delicious and fresh. Staff were all lovely and they really cared Cant recommend enough oh and parking for hotel guests with a EV charger Enjoy Marcus

Great place. Wonderful staff. I had a very nice room (The George), but there is no air conditioning and the room overlooks the main street where there is a fair amount of road noise. The restaurant is pretty good and there are other options in town. The Italian place (Sicily) across the street is very good. The breakfasts are very good. The pub atmosphere is excellent. There is also a Michelin starred restaurant next door, but it was not open while we were there. The village is OK, but there are much prettier places in this part of England. The village seems to be somewhat depressed, possibly because of the hangover resulting from Covid. They have 4 EV chargers which is very handy since they are somewhat hard to find in the country side. They are very slow, but that's not a problem if you are staying the night. All in all a wonderful place to stay with a great staff.
