Malika Apartments

The owners are lovely people and responsive to all my messages. They live next door to the apartments. The whole place is quite magical - a cool breeze seemed to blow through the beautiful gardens even when the wind had died down elsewhere. The apartments are cooled by this wind and the bedroom areas are air conditioned. The kitchens were well stocked and we didn't need to bring anything extra for our 4 day stay. We used the bbq on one occasion. The whole complex felt very secure which is important since you will want to hit the beach with as little as possible on your person. There is a path down to "the turtle beach" so it is only a 10 minute walk. Go early and you will be able to swim on your own with the turtles, go late with a bottle of wine to watch the sunset. Playa Kalki is 10 mins in the other direction with beach restaurants (during the day); Go West diving; great snorkelling and you don't have to fight for a parking spot! There are a couple of restaurants close by open on weekends and a couple more a 20 minute walk away. The roads are well lit so walkable at night. I think there are 6 apartments but really we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves most of the time. The pool area is serene; I think I went in 3 times every day. Just fabulous!

Awesome place in the west of the island. Very cosy, very intimate with only a few apartments sharing a pretty large pool. The apartment had the basic necessities you need, plan to do groceries before (the hosts will remknd you) especially since you will have access to a small kitchen and an outdoor bbq. The hosts are very welcoming, Persita got us fresh fish from the local fisherman. 5 min walk to the "turtle" beach, few minutes drive to many more. Comfortable bedroom with very efficient AC. Very pleasant stay, the place feels like a small upscale Oasis.
