Amber Springs Hotel

Overall lovely experience. We stayed in an amber den suite and loved the separate section for children. Great size of room, but could do with a bigger adult bed for comfort. Lovely bathroom. The facilities for children are fantastic, and my little one loved the pizza party. The train experience was ok- I wouldn’t go back for that alone. Food was pretty good- not gourmet, but definitely tasty. It’s a tad expensive for what it is, but we would go back.

The most fabulous stay for a family. Lovely staff, really nice room and food, affordable and the best entertainment for our two year old. We will definitely be back!

Arrived in hotel suite and what a disappointment. As soon as we came in we noticed a foul smell of sewage throughout the hotel room which was coming from the bathroom. We showered down the drain to reduce the smell and in the morning when we woke up the smell was unbearable throughout the entire hotel room. We had been woken up multiple times during the night due to the horrific toxic smell. Furthermore the bathroom was filthy with mould, a broken toilet roll holder and broken rails for towels. Room was also dusty and dirty. Facilities in hotel were nice such as bar and breakfast however the room situation was truly horrific. We eventually got moved to another room but still the holiday was disappointing.

This review is solely based on the World of Wizarding experience. We visited there today, my 8 year old daughter is a huge Harry Potter fan and to say it is terrible is an understatement. My daughter had her Gryffindor robes on and a wand but the moment you enter you are told where to sit and we got the house of the snake. This straight away wasn't good, and to be honest it never got better. I asked if we could move but were told no. No one even noticed she had robes on! Attention to these details with kids would make all the difference. You're given a brief description of what to find on the treasure hunt, then walked through some dark halls with dried dead leaves on the wall and out to the train, which you are on for about 30 seconds to go the the village. The village itself is a few sheds painted and the kids are told to find the few items on the list and then that's it!!! Back to the train for about 2 minutes this time and it's over!! I know the experience is cheap but it really has very little thought put into it. The 'prefects' aren't engaging through the treasure hunt and all in all its very disappointing.

It is a lovely hotel with fabulous grounds and activities for the children. Kids club very good. However, the rooms are very tired. The ceiling in our bathroom is covered with mould, no fan and the basin is dirty. The rooms were not cleaned properly for ages. No mini fridge in the room.

We didn't leave the hotel at all during our stay. So much for kids to do and food in the restaurants was all delicious. We 100% come back.
