Tuscany Villas Whakatane

The worse experience ever! My sister booked a room here as we were celebrating a family members birthday at a bar down the road. When she first arrived, she could sense by the amount of rules that were being voiced over anything inviting, she requested to withdraw the booking. Staff then offered to upgrade her room booking, so she decided to stay due to the kind gesture. Later that night, a handful of guests joined her back in her room to enjoy a quiet night cap to close off the night only to have the police knock on the door and inform my sister that everyone had to leave, even my sister. We were in shock as the rest of the hotel was empty and we weren’t harming anyone. No one was able to drive anywhere as we had been drinking and my sister and partner had to sleep in their car.

Excellent location within walking distance of the town centre and beachfront. Lovely big bed, very good quality bedding, towels. A powerful fan in the bathroom!! It may not sound much, but it’s so nice to be able to see and not have to clean a fogged up mirror. Fresh milk for drinks from reception, not those horrible little containers was appreciated. Our room was equipped with a microwave, plates, bowls, cutlery so we bought our own food and ate in the room. The weather was awful, but there are some lovely sights around the town so we’ll return at some point and will definitely stay here again.

Great spot. Very Central, walking distance to waterfront and various restaurants and cafes. Found access pretty easy in and out. Owners are great and friendly, they also own a great restaurant on the opposite side of the road. Room had spa - pretty cool!
