Moresby Hall Country House Hotel

As you drive through the gates the property just stuns you. Grade 1 listed building with so much character and beauty. Owners and staff give a warm welcome & nothing is too much trouble. Bedding smells divine (I dint know what you use but I love it), soft pillows and a quiet nights sleep. Downstairs bar and dining rooms have already been remodelled since new owners took over and 4 poster bedded rooms have just been given the upgrade too. We stayed for Sunday dinner and- wow- what a fantastic roast it was! So large I really should have opted for the small version ( that isn’t much smaller tbh) Breakfast - full English- was tasty and quality bacon and sausages used. Would choose this place over the premier across the road any day and hope to be back soon. Thank you for such a lovely stay & wish you many years of welcoming guests to your gorgeous hotel

Wonderful. Stunning property. Friendly welcoming staff. We enjoyed a 5 night stay at this historic property, we were made to feel very welcome. Food was excellent and recommend the Sea Bass, it was absolutely delicious. We had an enjoyable and relaxing time here.

Fabulous welcome, with a top-class Sunday lunch cooked to a high standard and great value, we had so much food and super tasty with all the trimmings, beautiful clean venue and friendley smiley staff, well-kept gardens with stunning decor, inside and out fantastic, we will be back

Wonderful place and food excellent👌 Steph the co-owner is very welcoming as are the staff. Nothing pretentious, everyone is very welcome. I enjoyed soaking up the wonderful atmosphere. The property is steeped in history and has been tastefully redecorated to a very high standard. Toilets very clean and very decorative and unique hand washbasin. Absolutely 5*😊

My brother and his wife wedding held there this weekend 6 /7/24 , couldn’t fault one thing the owners are absolutely lovely , they are fantastic , so friendly and go the extra mile to make your event extra special, all the staff are very helpful & friendly you are made to feel so welcome as soon as you walk through the door , the food is 1st class , every meal was delicious , ( fantastic chef ) my room was stunning , and the bathroom facility’s were amazing too , plus a very high standard of cleanliness , the building and grounds are stunning so much history to the building too , , all our family & guests were so impressed with the whole day as were we , can’t than them all enough for a fantastic weekend , and making the wedding so amazing

A perfect start to our C2C adventure. We were blown away by the warm welcome and loved the fabulous room with four poster bed. The Tesla charger was a surprise bonus, and we were hugely grateful to the owners letting us park the car at Moresby Hall while we cycled across the country.

We spent our first night on this trip here. Our room was quite comfortable and well appointed. The hotel has a great history and it was fun to spend a night here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for the beginning of our C2C bike adventure.

Visited this hotel for the first time to have a meal to celebrate my husbands birthday with friends The hotel is in a stunning location near the cliffs overlooking the Solway . The building is very impressive and the gardens are lovely Quirky decor mix of traditional and modern really works Food was really nice and reasonably priced as was the wine Best bit is the staff, really great , made the meal so enjoyable and very fun Thank you very much

From the warm welcome to the delicious food served, I loved every moment of my stay at this fantastic and unique hotel, steeped in history and character. My room was spacious and well kept, boasting a super comfy bed that ensured a great night's sleep. Without a doubt, this establishment ranks highly among the best hotels I have had the pleasure of staying, and I hope to make a return visit soon.
