Bayside Motel Whitianga

Had a very comfortable stay at this nice motel, really nice and cooperative owners, spacious room, modern furniture, fittings, and fixtures, slightly tight but dedicated parking space, and a decent location. They also offer free EV Charging on the 7KW Charger installed at the front of the motel. Managed by the owners this place has been kept up really well and has a very new feel to it. Below is the detailed review: Location: This is located outside the town so it’s a minimum 4~5 minute drive from the town center, while a 45 minute walk along the beach and highway. It’s located right on the highway so you have to be careful and patient while getting in and out of the motel with your car. Rooms: Five stars for the rooms. The room is very spacious, accommodates a large king size bed, as well as a single bed that was big enough to sleep two young kids. The mattress and pillows were soft and comfortable. The sheets and the entire room was super clean. There is a small dining table setup, a flat screen TV with sky cable. There is a fully stocked kitchenette with microwave, toaster, and electric kettle. The room was fully stocked with cutlery and dishes that were also very clean and newer. The room is carpeted so after returning from beach it’s better to step in with bare clean feet. Bathroom: The bathroom was also spacious, modern fittings, and a separate shower cabin. The water pressure in the shower on a ground floor room was really nice. They have fixed shower gel and shampoo dispensers in the shower cabinet which is good. The wash basin water pressure was little off as it splashed upon opening though, needed to be very carefully and slowly opened to avoid splashing. Ample towels were provided that were in good shape. Parking: Each unit has 1 parking space, for ground floor units it’s right in-front of the room, for first floor unit, the owners will guide the guests to park in certain spots at the front of the building. The entrance to the parking is narrow, and once the parking lot is full it gets tricky to park the car, especially if the first parked vehicle is long. Staff: Both owners are on site, and are super helpful people. They were really helpful to arrange a smooth after hours check in. Warren also took out time to explain about the area and guided us on the scenic spots towards our upcoming journey. Additional Things of Note: They have a 7KW EV Charger fixed on the front of the motel in the owners driveway. Please make sure to call the owners in advance and let them know you need to charge your vehicle. They will ensure the spot is available for you when you arrive. Although it’s a slow charger, but the best part is that they provide charging free of cost. Although the town has fast electric charging points available at a 5 minute drive, yet it’s great and convenient to charge for free while you sleep. Last minute booking. Wonderful hosts, very clean room, comfortable bed and fantastic shower. Swimming beach right across the street. Beautiful walk down the beach to shops and restaurants for dinner. Everything is fairly close and easy to access.

Look it’s a motel, it has the basics. It’s located on the north side of Whitianga in a quiet end of town on the main road. There are no views as your behind the front building, but that also means no noise from traffic. The beds are comfy enough, place was clean and was a nice stay

My wife and I stayed for 1 night (Wish we would have stayed longer) and throughly enjoyed our accommodations and getting to know Warren. Everything you could need was provided in the unit. We regret the property is for sale but know retirement is a Great thing and wish Warren and Robyn the best. Mam and Albert

The owners were friendly and take great pride in their property. Very clean and well presented with all the amenities you require for a comfortable stay. Just a short walk to the surf beach and 2 minute drive to cafes and bars. They also highlighted the unique places of interest. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
