Paul was a great host, very friendly and welcoming , a good breakfast to start off your day , comfy room . Local to the amenities,a short walk to the sea front and beach . A bouns we also had some sunny weather. Will stop here again definitely, Highly recommended .

Paul was a welcoming host on our final night of walking across Britain. My wife especially appreciated that he was the only host (over eight nights) who troubled himself to bring our (heavy) luggage up to our room! The room was comfortable and clean with modern fixtures and decor. Breakfast was timely and very good; his offerings were more upscale than the traditional fare we've been used to. And he was helpful in providing information about how to make our London train out of Newcastle. All in all a very nice experience & highly recommended.

Booked at short notice for a last minute family event locally. Arrived late but the host stayed to greet me. Really well equipped room with refreshments, charge points for the electronics, big TV & a really well equipped bathroom with lots of complementary essentials (cotton buds, cotton wall along with a good selection of shower washes). Had to decided on breakfast the night before & opted for eggs benedict - probably the best I've ever had🙂. Good selection of cereal/yoghurt too & great coffee

I stayed here as I was visiting my brother who lives close by. It is an ideal location for Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. Lee the host was lovely he was very accommodating making breakfast for me after Parkrun even then breakfast was over. My single room had everything that I needed and a lovely power shower. I would definitely recommend The Metropolitan and will be back.

We (3 couples) stayed here for two nights upon completion of Hadrian's Wall Path (booked by Hillwalk Tours). It is a short Metro ride from the eastern end of the Path at Wallsend. Lee was a tremendous host-he made reservations for our dinner at a Turkish restaurant the first night after walking over 12 miles, gave us other suggestions for our second dinner and booked our taxi to the airport. He even called early in the morning to insure the taxi would be there on time. Our rooms were excellent as was breakfast.
