The Front Street Inn

First the good points - really cool renovated building, exposed brick, high ceilings, tasteful decor. And it's clean. The only staff we encountered is the young man managing the parking lot, but text instructions on how to enter our room with a code were easy to follow. Disappointed that we had to circle the block 3 times trying to figure out where to park because the parking lot was roped off without any signage to say " hotel guests stop and ask the attendant to let you in!". We had to park in a private home parking lot and walk to the hotel to ask where we park for the hotel. Having a kitchenette in the room is great but there weren't any dishes or cutlery available, not even a spoon to stir coffee in the paper cup provided with the Keurig. No one is on hand to answer questions or provide an extra coffee pod, or whatever you may need as a guest, except for the parking attendant who was very sweet, but obviously limited in his ability to help guests. The hotel seems like an afterthought to the adjacent espresso bar to be honest. Which is a shame because they've clearly put a lot of thought into the renovations and decor, and the location is excellent, a block from the Riverwalk.

Stayed recently for one night, never received the check in email which was a concern as everything was automated. Managed to find someone to check us in who was very helpful. Room was adequate and functional, nothing special. Water pressure from the shower was pitiful. The outside of the place was tatty and needs a good coat of paint to freshen it up.

The Inn is very accessible to downtown, restaurants, riverwalk and other activities. The room was clean, well supplied and very comfortable. The owner Jamie went above and beyond to give us a great experience. Definitely will stay here again when we have the opportunity.

House was super clean and lovingly restored. Perfect location and neighborhood. Breakfast was delightful. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We slept well on a nice mattress. Room was clean and charming. Hope to come again soon, while attending concerts in Wilson Center.

Looked better than it is. My partner & I visited Wilmington for the first time. Just a quick overnight birthday celebration. I should have read the reviews more closely, so thats on me, but I thought it would be more like a boutique hotel based on the photos, location & price point ..but instead, its very budget-like. We are in our early 50’s & prefer a higher end experience & this was not. We stayed in the Segovia room. I’ll start with the good: The staff has been very friendly & accomodating. The location is great. The coffee bar/bar as part of the property is lovely wl)th great coyrtyard/outside seating & tasty drinks (coffee & cocktails). The not-so-great: while the location is covenient, its quite loud with street traffic noise. The room, while it has some charm (like exposed brick walls & large arch windows), need lots of TLC. New paint is needed badly (marks, chips, scuffs everywhere), & the wood floor needs to be replaced. Its way beyond “charming original”. Its very uneven, worn & likely has mold under it. The carpet is due to be replaced & the bathroom needs major updating (& is quite small) as well. When we first came in, I was overwhelmed with a very strong musty smell. (Likely mold) so if you are sensitive, beware. I wanted ti like it so much more.

We were in Wilmington for a meeting. Off season. The room was nice. It needed a clock, which I mentioned to them. The people working here were VERY nice! It doesn't offer breakfast, but they have a GREAT coffee bar with awesome pastries. In the afternoon and evenings they have a really neat outside bar with fire tables. Really fun named drinks. Good location for off season.
