The best Guest House in which I've stayed, over many years of visiting the Lake District. Bringing a partner to Windermere was a first for me, and Cathy and Tim went out of their way to make us both feel welcome and comfortable. We were given the "penthouse room" at the very top of the house, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Snug and cosy but with ample space and furnishings, it was super-clean and comfortable with a 5-star bed and bathroom. The house was quiet and peaceful, and struck me as very well sound-proofed: no chitter-chat or snoring from others coming through the walls! Haisthorpe House is situated right in the heart of Windermere and has a very attractive front yard, full of plants and flowers which invite you in visually, before you step inside the warm and well-appointed house. The breakfast was tasty and wide-ranging, and Cathy and Tim catered for both dietary and timing requirements without the blink of an eye! Their helpfulness with suggestions about local activities led to us having a fabulous day out, boat and steam train and all, at the Lakes Aquarium. We were able to leave our bikes in a secure and easily accessible spot at the back of the house, and it was as much fun coming back to the lovely Haisthorpe House as it was setting off to explore the beautiful Lake District! Cathy and Tim were very accommodating for our weekend stay with friends the room was spotless the attention to detail was amazing it's a perfect location to either enjoy a walk to the lake or just enjoy a coffee in the centre were already discussing when to return beautiful guest house

Just had a 2 night stay here , absolutely beautiful and homely guest house Very clean and made to feel very welcome Definitely would recommend this place and would definitely stay here again In a ideal central position to all amenities A well run place and very modern Run by a lovely couple and they went above and beyond to make our stay the very best Thank you

Thank you Cathy and Tim (proprietors of Haisthorpe House) for providing everything we needed for our stay in the Lake District. Ideally situated in Windermere and a stroll from the lake at Bowness. Our room was perfect and the whole guest house spotlessly clean. A very nice Continental breakfast had lovely touches such a home made preserves. Cathy and Tim were on hand and were very knowledgeable about the area which was a great help. Definitely highly recommend

Just got back from Windermere we stayed at the haisthorpe bed and breakfast guest house it is absolutely fantastic great hosts couldn't do enough for you the guest house is absolutely sparkling clean the breakfast was fab will be coming back here

My wife and I booked a room at Haisthorpe for 4 nights and couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and explore Lake District over the long weekend. Hosts, Tim and Cathy were extremely warm and cordial and made us feel at home right from the moment we checked in. They explained to us in great detail about the rooms and offered us numerous suggestions about places to visit nearby. The reception was well stocked with interesting books and travel guides which were super helpful as well ! The entire house is decorated with great attention to detail and we had everything what we needed. The rooms are comfortable, clean, well ventilated and an example of their attention to details was the ample number of conveniently located charging ports and lamps. Breakfast spread was simple (rightly so) and extremely delicious and dare I say better than some of the restaurants in the village ! I would definitely choose this again for my next Lake District Trip.

Hosts Tim and Cathy were very hospitable and attention to detail made the stay very enjoyable. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The location is excellent and easy access to village centre. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay there again.

We came for 2 nights for my birthday. We stayed in the super king ensuite, and the room was absolutely beautiful and clean. The bed was so comfy we wanted to bring it home. We were very well taken care of by Cathy and Tim. Nothing was too much trouble and gave us lots of handy advice of where the best spots were to visit. And an added bonus the homemade plum marmalade was stunning .

Lovely stay for 2 nights,made really welcome. So friendly. Absolutely immaculate and nothing to much trouble. Great location, definitely recommend. Will definitely stay there again. Walked down into Bowness twice,once to get the ferry to Ambleside for a couple of hours.
