River Crossing Lodge

This was a great place to stay for our last night in Namibia. The room (individual chalet) was very comfortable with great views. After a lot of buffets, it was nice to be served a three course dinner (with choices). Breakfast was also very good. It was initially a bit tricky to find as we had to cross the new road that is being built, but some workmen pointed us in the right direction. A nice rural setting though, just out of Windhoek so very quiet at night.

A haven of peace outside Windhoek. Lovely chalets with views over the area. Resident lovebird flocks. Excellent food and horse riding can be arranged.

Wonderful place to start and finish our trip in Namibia - the rooms were spacious, clean and beautiful. Dinner was amazing and capped off with wonderful local wine! Particularly enjoyed seeing the lovebirds roosting under eaves of the main lodge!

This was a lovely place to stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful. They even offered to assist us with our luggage since we were jetlagged and exhausted. Each of the rooms can be found along stone paths that curve around the side of the main lodge building. Both of the rooms I stayed in were extremely comfortable. The mattress was firm but not uncomfortable, and the pillows were fluffy. The room included a minifridge and television. The bathroom provided towels, shampoo/conditioner, and soap. The shower took a few minutes to get warm, but provided a nice hot shower in the morning (estimated about 10 minutes of very hot water that eventually started to cool down). The food was delicious. For dinner on both nights we had a choice for the main coarse and dessert, with pre-chosen appetizers and side dishes. They also had a selection of wines that we selected several bottles of and loved what we chose. Breakfast was a small buffeted with the option to request eggs and meats prepared by the chefs. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. We stayed one day at the beginning of our trip and at the end, as the gathering point before and after the airport.

My third trip to Namibia and River Crossing makes for a comfortable and peaceful short stay before onward travel. Staff are welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Food is good and the new balcony creates a relaxed area to enjoy good company and sundowners. The rooms are large and beds comfortable and I love the welcome touches to make your own tea/coffee to enjoy on your private verandah whilst taking in stunning views 😊

This place has extraordinary potential and so so much potential, However, upon us arriving, the Staff member running the bar (Bar tender), had his own boombox load with obscene music, and in the process spoiled the holy experience this place can renders , plus the restaurants floor was still wet with varnish, and no one could sit or enter onto the deck. Next time, I hope and pray for a better experience!

Our room was freezing and did not warm up throughout the night. Froze all night long. Looking forward to a nice hot shower in the morning to warm up but got zero hot water so we couldn’t even shower. Do not recommend this place. While the staff is friendly why should you pay for a room you can’t use.

Unfortunately I severed a tendon during my stay and was in need of help to assess the damage before returning to the UK. They were uninterested and I felt they neglected any duty of care to me as a guest.It was easy of them to help out but they chose not to.
