Ramada by Wyndham Windsor Locks

I don't understand this hotel. It wants to be grand, and look to be renewing it's interior and rooms, but its grand lobby just look so sad and empty in its present state. I feel really sad for the operator. A concert was going on the day we stayed. It took a long time to check in. We were kindly given a room away from the loud concert. But this place really takes a lot of navigating to get to from the lobby, down some weird corridor space linking to annex of the building. No elevator. Very sad, cold breakfast. Middle of the night, drunk people knocking on our door talking nonsense. Last straw for Wyndham franchise for me; I have stayed at some great Wyndham places before, but it's just not synonymous to quality any more.

The overall feeling here is not welcoming to guests. When you first walk in, there’s a big sign on the check-in counter that says “if you smoke here you will be escorted out with the police and find $250”! When that’s the first interaction I know I have not spent enough money and it is a problem, oriented hotel Where management is more concerned about controlling problematic guests than welcoming them. The lady who checked me in was nice though, but there were four people in line and some guy came out of the management auction office and looked around and went back in. So I guess he didn’t think having to wait that long was a problem and it was a long wait. The room was pretty nice but neglected. The curtains were decent, but they were falling off the curtain rod in several places which would’ve been easy to fix. The water wasn’t hot enough. I couldn’t use the coffee pot because there was something yucky floating in my brand new cup after I used it it looked like curd milk. The light outside my room was flickering off and on like a ******* house. I saw a maintenance guy down the hall so I went to him and I pointed out the light and he told me he didn’t speak English. I used my hand to blink at the same time. The light was blinking on and off. You don’t need to speak English to see when someone’s pointing to a light that is blinking often on like there’s a fire alarm going off. In the morning I asked him where was breakfast using universal sign language. I came from San Diego where half of the people speak Spanish so I’m used to communicating with people who don’t speak English, but he couldn’t answer me when I pretended to be drinking coffee and asked him where with my hands. If you don’t speak English, you need to learn some basic words if you’re going to be working in the United States. numbers one through 10, hello, goodbye, thank you, where is, I need, I want, coffee, toilet paper, trash, etc. A basic vocabulary like that can be achieved in evening. When I went to the breakfast, there was a long line because we couldn’t help ourselves to eggs and sausage. They gave me about half of a scrambled egg And one sausage. I asked for more eggs and another sausage because come on! I had literally called the night before and I asked if they had a hot breakfast because if they didn’t, I would go somewhere else. Again, we are being treated like children who don’t know how to behave without micromanagement. I thought it was really dumb and insulting. The people didn’t speak English. There is more. There was something wrong with their scrambled eggs. I couldn’t figure it out at first, but then I realized It tasted like I was eating egg yolks and it was disgusting. I think somebody else is taking the egg whites to make a healthy omelette for themselves and then serving with left to the guests and trying to pass it as scrambled eggs, but it’s just the yolks. Mold around. Ath tub, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion bottles half empty or less, a bar of soap dried on the shower curtain. Breakfast was served by an employee and only allowed 1 scoop of eggs, 1 sausage patty, 6oz oj 1 8oz cup of milk. Crazy, never seen this before.

Loud music playing every night in the parking lots, it can’t be a one off because I’ve been here multiple nights and it’s every night. The breakfast items are stale, the coffee is stale. The rooms are dirty, you can put literally put your hand outside around the sliding windows. The bathroom is filthy, the shower curtain is hanging off the wall. There are stains on the towels that smell old and dank. The floors are dirty and sticky. You can hear people whispering, never mind talking, from all directions. There are doors slamming day and night, during the day it’s mostly housekeeping making all the noise. I answered the door to them on the first morning to let them know I was all good and they pushed their way in shouting and spouting off a list of what of what I need and wouldn’t go away. Second day they pushed their way in again telling me it’s check out time and I informed them I’d paid to stay another night.

I booked this hotel because my family and I were visiting the big E and it was the only hotel in the area within 20 minutes for under $200. However, the Outside appearance of the hotel is not very pleasing. The lobby is beautiful and the woman who checked me in was Wonderful. Unfortunately, the rooms could be cleaner. There was stains on the bedding hair stuck to the wall in the bathroom so I guess you get what you pay for.

We were extremely happy with our stay at the Ramada at Windsor Locks. The rooms were exceptionally clean and remodelled. We never heard another person through the walls (unlike what another reviewer stated). The full breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The lobby was fully updated and spacious as was the breakfast area. The staff were courteous and accommodating. Upon checkin they let me know that there was a $50 deposit that they were taking on my credit card. No issues with “extra charges” that another reviewer had mentioned. The hallways are still in need of updating but for us, that is not a big deal as the rooms were updated, clean and very spacious. We stayed 3 days as we attended a festival and my husband said he wished he could have stayed longer! I would highly recommend staying here and would do it again if we are back next year.

No elevator, had to change room from 2nd floor to the 1st floor. Poor conditions in bathroom, hard to adjust AC, broken bed, smashed glass outside from broken, unusable sliding glass door. Very noisy, slamming doors til late night and then early morning. Minimal breakfast, no restaurant in-house and location was not near a restaurant. The very beautiful foyer was deceptive when I was confronted with so many problems. 1 night was 1 too many.

Property was dirty, bedding had stains and bathrooms dirty. Was also charged an extra $63 still waiting for my refund
