Excellent living experience. Very nice view, very nice boss and good service. Handmade breakfast small dish and tasty. The only short is the WiFi and projector out of work and can’t be correct when I am there two nights.

The view outside the hotel was simply amazing! We arrived on 23 March and managed to see the rapeseed flowers at its most vibrant! The hotel owner was also really friendly and took good care of us during our stay, providing free transport from the train station to the hotel, as well as providing free breakfast and travel tips around the area. We also ended up engaging the services of the driver who fetched us from the station on the first day for the next 2 days and he was really good as he recommended less touristy destinations and had a nice new car. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel. The entire village was so friendly too.

Nancy was an incredible host and went out of her way to make sure I was well looked after and comfortable. She gave me a tour of the village and showed me round to local sites I’d never have found on my own and explained the historical significance of each place. My room was beautiful and the food was great. I cannot recommend a stay here more! Thank you!

First things first, the Huatianxi Designer Art hostel is not a hostel by any normal use of the term. This is a wonderful boutique hotel with a very high designer finish. Each room is individually themed to a very high specification and finish, with unique fittings and furnishings; most of the rooms have incredible views down the valley of river and fields – as does the terrace with an astonishing mirror catwalk for the perfect selfie! The main reception area is a huge open plan bar, eating and relaxing area. There are unusual and beautiful artefacts everywhere. We visited in the low season and were the only guests in the hotel, so we were lucky enough to have the undivided attention of the owner, Nancy Peng, throughout our stay. Nancy could not have done more to make our stay truly memorable: she cooked fantastic meals, which were real banquets even at breakfast time – and the best food we ate in our entire stay in China. She organised bikes for us to explore the local villages - and then, in addition to running the hotel, Nancy became our guide and driver for three days of sightseeing in the region; we went to waterfalls, (a ski lift took us high into the mountains and we were able to swim in the lagoons of the mountain stream, absolutely glorious), we visited traditional villages and ceramic museums. Nancy was completely indefatigable and determined that we should get the best out of staying at her hotel and what the region had to offer. We had such a good time with her! We can't recommend Huatianxi Designer Art hostel too highly and we would rate it more than 5 stars if we could. It is a spacious, comfortable and totally unique place to stay – in a beautiful and interesting part of China. And, without doubt, Nancy is the most phenomenal host. We arrived as guests and left as friends – what a wonderful and totally memorable experience.

I think I’m pretty good at finding hotels. All the way out here in the U.S., I actually managed to find this traditional-style guesthouse that you can’t even see from the road 😄. It’s wheat harvest season right now, so the owners had given their staff time off, but because we were coming, one of the owners traveled all the way from Shanghai just to host us. 🌹 Her name is Ms. Peng—she’s a university graduate from 1981 and a professional architectural designer. She designed the entire guesthouse herself. Every corner here is beautiful, and I can’t even take photos fast enough to capture it all.

Amazing place in a nice village. Rooms are very nice, the manager is very attentive and the food was great! Will be very happy if I can stay again.

We stayed for 3 days in this lovely hotel, the lady running the place was really nice and helped us organising trips in the Wuyuan area. From the terrace you have a great view of the village and can take great photos. The rooms are spacious and offer everything you need. The lobby/ breakfast area has a lot of charme, since all the furniture is from another era and so the place just feels very original and homey. Even though on 2 of 3 days we were the only guests, we got a full buffet of delicious Chinese food for breakfast, including a good coffee. The organised trips with Mister Yu were such a pleasure, he showed us the best spots in the area and was a really good driver.

We had a fantastic time and highly recommend this place for tourists (including foreign tourists). Nancy and the staff were so kind, helpful and friendly - they shared recommendations on where to visit. The food was absolutely delicious; we recommend ordering lunch and dinner there too. The room was lovely; the view from the balcony was stunning and very peaceful. We recommend hiring Master Yu as the driver; He drove us around the various villages (Wuyuan is his hometown, so he knows all the good places to visit). He is so thoughtful and took our picture many times! The afternoon tea was also very special. We had a wonderful trip!
