Fantastic little Inn. Stayed for one night between Lake District activities at honister and buttermere. Around a 30 minute drive from both. Across the road from bassenthwaite lake which was perfect to cool down in after an active day.
We stayed in room 25 which was delightful! Perfect for a family of four. Lovely little communal garden with a picnic bench. Easy parking. Staff lovely, and food was great! Will definitely return!

We had a great meal here whilst staying nearby in our camper van. The staff were so helpful and squeezed us in for an early meal. Probably worth booking if it’s a weekend as was busy. There’s a good range on the menu from burgers, to home cooked style meals and venison if that took your fancy. We had the burger and fish pie which were delicious. The home made burger is worth an extra mention. Very clean and spacious with a lovely garden if you wanted to eat outdoors.

The Old residents lounge is gone. A place to sit and relax. No residents lounge now. Food very average. My butter bean humous and flat bread was inedible, too hard to scoop with the bread. Our room was very good. Good value but nothing like the old Pheasant which had fantastic food and you felt very comfortable and pampered. So a travelodge/ premier inn experience in a lovely old building. The old bar is still there which was good.

A good place to stay for the Western Lakes, Ullswater, Bassenthwaite etc. Roads are a bit quieter here, although the pub is not far from the A66 so has very convenient links. It's a pub, so you have to order food at the bar.

We stayed for 2 nights but would have liked to have stopped longer. Room was nice but a bit squashed for space , bed comfortable, shower very good. Meals all good. Great place nearby at the train station. Also used the local spa facility, very smart but not everything was working properly when we were there. Staff were all very friendly , helpful and worked hard. Food was good especially the breakfast. Liked the bars in the hotel and the decor and atmosphere of the hotel.

We had 3 great days at the Pheasant. The rooms were pleasant and clean. The English breakfast was outstanding, lovely evening meals, but the best feature of the Pheasant was the excellent staff, high levels of friendly customer service, always helpful with a smile! I'm already looking forward to going again sometime. Well done and thanks.

The was a lovely place to stay. Good atmosphere, good food and all the staff were fabulous. There are some very good local walks and the scenery is stunning, as you would expect. We spent an afternoon in Keswick which was very easy to get to. Highly recommend.

Met up with friends for Sunday Lunch 6 Adults 1 Dog, asked for a corner table had the best table for our party. Food & Drinks were amazing., service very good. We were not rushed at all Lunch lasted 3 hours. We will stay over with our dog next time.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. We had opted for a cosy room which was well equipped and comfortable but only had a velux window so no views and limited light. The food was largely the same as other ICG hotels: breakfast good but dinner average pub food. Although the hotel had been refurbished its grade 1 status meant it retained some of its old world charm including a cosy snug. Quiet and peaceful location with walks from the hotel. We really enjoy our stay and will return.
