Unfortunately, our stay at La Casona De Yaiza was quite disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the experience was marred by the attitude of the receptionist, who was rude, unwelcoming, and accusatory. We were told we hadn’t provided our booking details—even though we had booked through On the Beach and our information was clearly passed on by the third-party company. Instead of helping resolve the issue, the receptionist was dismissive and made us feel like we were at fault, which was incredibly frustrating after a long journey. To make matters worse, the restaurant was closed for the entire duration of our stay—something that wasn’t mentioned in advance. We had chosen this hotel partly for the convenience of on-site dining, so this was a big letdown. At night, we also experienced a lot of noise, making it difficult to get a proper rest. For a place that presents itself as a peaceful, boutique hotel, this was quite unexpected. Cleaning of the rooms was done at a usually early time of 8.30am. We are early risers so not much of an issue but we were woken up the first morning by the cleaner trying to get in to clean our room. We had checked in at 10.30pm the night before so cleaning not really needed. No cleaning was done on the last day of our stay so very hit and miss. The setting and architecture of the hotel are undeniably charming, but sadly the poor service and lack of basic amenities really overshadowed everything else. We expected a lot more and left feeling disappointed.
