Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa

Two couples attended Christmas lunch and tribute act today. Upon arrival there were drinks available Prosecco. Orange juice and selection of beers. Staff well presented and polite. Marquee looked fantastic. Tables all set. Plenty of room to move without bumping into next table of guests. Choice of Starter which arrived promptly. Main course plentiful and very fresh and hot. Desert delicious. Followed by Tea or Coffee with a Mince Pie. Excellent service. Excellent food. I am sure all who attended today would return. Brilliant atmosphere with lots of laughter and dancing. The four of us had a Wonderful day Thank you To all who served us today. PS. The only little thing that I was disappointed in was the tiny Mince Pie, but that’s because I love Mince Pies

This was our fourth or fifth stay at Bryn Meadows over the course of 8/9 years and it's always more special at Christmas. I have always found it reminiscent of the hotel where Johnny and Baby had the time of their lives 😂 so I find the slightly dated exterior charming. So to address the point of many reviews... Yes, the rooms are dated... We have had all types during our visits and having a suite does make all the difference... The dark furniture is to miserable for the small rooms but fine in the larger. Yes, in some places the cracks of time are visable such as a cracked tile here and there but nothing I found to be so severe it would put me off visiting. Our bedroom was spotless The beds continue to be amazing! The complaints I do have that stops me giving this 5 star again is the bathrooms... There was a strong smell coming from the tub... It wasn't an offensive smell but it did smell of strong soap and it put me off along with the yellow stains on the wall. They are very miserable. Again the spa was lovely... But I don't know why they have created lanes when it's just for the casual spa days. We had dressing gowns but no slippers and when my husband rang to enquire we were told they didn't supply them anymore due to health and safety... Wish we had been told before as walking back to room wasn't fun! Then we seen a bunch of people with the slippers on.b I do think they need to slightly up their spa game if they want to keep their reputation as they haven't grown along with competing spas and charge the same. We only used the restaurant for breakfast this time which is standard but enjoyable... I've always enjoyed the evening meals we've had... But this time we discovered a local pub called Bistro 8 and it's well worth the ten minute drive... £7 taxi fare... Not the cheapest pub but special. The views here are incredible no matter the season. This hotel despite its flaws simply has my heart... Worth a visit 😀

Me and my mum paid £200 for a 'calm' package. We got to the spa and went to go for a swim, there were only a handful of lounger chairs around the pool, all of which were taken. The pool itself was taken up by people swimming in lanes so not really any space to get in too. So we went to get a coffee and came back and there were still no chairs available so we sat in a corridor on a sofa. (Bit like a hotel lobby, certainly not relaxing at all). There was only one relaxation room with 4 chairs so if this was taken too there was literally no where to sit. When there was space, we went into the 'relaxation room' to find 2 women having a massive catch up chatting the whole time. We went for our treatments and my mum loved hers. I had a back massage which was lovely, then I had a scalp massage which was terrible. She didn't actually massage my head and just seemed to play with my hair for half an hour. After this experience, I complained to the manager who offered a free drink and a free course. We took them up on their offer however still left the 'spa' feeling more wound up and frustrated than when we arrived. We then followed up our complaint with an email to be told we would not be getting refunded our £200 due to the fact they had given us a free drink and meal. Like this compensates for a £200 package!!!! Worst 'spa' i have ever been to avoid like the plague.

We've visited Bryn Meadows spa a number of times of the years but it has unfortunately steadily gone downhill. The restaurant food is bland and with very little choice (who wants a full Sunday roast before a spa afternoon?!). With only one hour allocated for lunch before your treatment the experience feels rush and everyday rather than relaxing and special.

A wonderful stay at the Bryn Meadows! Lovely room with one of the comfiest beds I have ever stayed in. Staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Great food and drinks here- the lamb ragu tagliatelle was fabulous. Would definitely stay again

We have visited Bryn meadows 3 times previously a few years back and always had a pleasant experience. Our experience this time unfortunately wasn’t as good as we remember. The positives of our experience were the views, overall food and overall spa experience. The negatives were the cleanliness of the whole hotel, staff, room decor. We really enjoyed our meals, considering the amount of poor food reviews the blas restaurant has, our food was extremely tasty. We also really enjoyed our breakfast experience. Lovely calm atmosphere and plenty of continental options. The breakfast itself wasn’t the best breakfast we’ve had, but we still enjoyed. The pool area wasn’t as clean as we would like, some tiles being broken. But we still did enjoy our time spent in the jacuzzi and in the sauna room/steam room. The spa treatments were ok. The rooms are far from modern, and are in desperate need of updating. Old dusty chipped furniture, cracked sink and bath, mouldy tiles and bath mat. But despite this, we both had an incredible sleep, very quiet and peaceful, and very comfortable fresh bed. My rating of 3/5 for my stay at Bryn Meadows isn’t due to the food, spa or rooms, but unfortunately due to the staff members. Not one single member of staff made us feel very welcome. ‘Hi how are you today?’ ‘Have a nice day/evening’ ’Good Morning’ ‘I hope you enjoy your stay with us’ , would really have improved our stay. It felt like the staff were just trying to get their job done and go home, none of them seemed interested in us as guests.
