Amazing Place to stay in Zakinthos islands. Best choice of the trip

Food excellent with plenty of options. Staff very friendly and helpful although a couple of evenings there didn't seem to be enough on duty in the buffet restaurant. Couldn't find a table which had been layed and lots of tables not cleared away quickly enough. We ended up laying our own table one night because we were fed up with waiting. Best thing about our room (214) was the balcony with fantastic beach views. Worst thing was the bathroom which was way too small. The wash basin was painted black but paint had peeled off in several places. Shower enclosure was black in-between some of the tiles and showers sealant discoloured. 2 mornings with no hot water in the shower. Pencil marks drawn on the wall tile above the door. Our living area had been touched up with paint in some areas which made it stand out from everything else and more storage would have been beneficial. Couldn't fault the room cleaning though. The outside area was also disappointing with a few sparse plants placed in open sandy areas. My wife's first impression was that it looked like a run down car park. The outside area has so much potential for improvement but felt like a piece of wasteland. Entertainment was virtually non existent and we ended up going out most evenings. Never a problem getting a sunbed and as mentioned earlier, the staff were excellent. I think with a little more forethought this could be a really excellent hotel but we have stayed in much better 4 star hotels. Always travel with TUI but I really wonder where they get these ratings from. We spoke to so many people who agreed that it wasn't 5 star standard. If you want a chilled relaxing week then this is probably the place for you but don't have expectations of being something it isn't.
