Herdade Do Touril

This was our favourite stay during our road trip through the Alentejo . It is a beautifully maintained old farmstead with great views , amazing sunsets, a lovely walk down to the towering cliff top pathway and lovely staff. We were lucky to be allocated a room in the main building which had its own small terrace with two sun beds opening onto the grassy area surrounding the lovely pool. The room was not huge but the bed was very comfortable with excellent quality linens and towels and a well appointed bathroom. After an easy 20 min walk to the cliff top we spent a lovely relaxing afternoon sitting by the pool. The dining room was very pleasant. The food was ok but probably not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The breakfast however was fantastic. The staff particularly the receptionists were very friendly yet professional. We would have loved to stay longer.

Starts well with a personal guided tour of the property. Amazing pool with lots of sunbeds. Moderate hike to cliffs on the ocean with stunning vista. Great for hikers and bikers, with bikes readily accommodated. Private patio with sun loungers. Heated floors in bathroom of decent sized rooms. Great breakfast. Dinner was very good, a little pricier than in town possibly, but expected in such a location. Grow their own herbs and vegetables. But really it is the staff and the clearly well maintained facilities that set it apart.

We have spent an amazing week at Herdade do Touril, the quality of the infrastructure, the service and the location are great. The staff is always putting the customer at the center, trying everything to make our holidays an incredible experience, the buildings look like new, due to the constant renew and attention to details and the property is located in a beautiful area very close to incredible beaches, restaurantes and small towns. We will definitively be back next year and we recommend this place to everybody.

We had a lovely time here and would have awarded 5 stars if it weren't for the disappointing, over-priced and over-hyped restaurant. We had high hopes having eaten very well at a connected restaurant (Tasco do Celso in Milfontes) but this falls well short. (nb However the breakfast in the main building is lovely!) So - highly recommended as a place to stay but only eat breakfast there - plenty of good restaurants in Milfontes - we particularly enjoyed À Fateixa.

This is a very nice hotel to stay in, relaxing, but great attention to detail and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Lovely welcome too from the resident donkey! We only stayed here one night as part of an organised walk, but if we did the walk along the Rota Vincentino again, we would definitely stay for two nights here. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast the next day, both very good.

This very nice 'country hotel' was a very pleasant stop during our (organised) biking tour along the Alentejo and Algarve West Coast. We got a very warm welcome, dropping in after a warm and dusty bicycle trip. We were very happy to still get a late afternoon lunch. The room was very spacy and convenient, as was the bath room and the terras. The restaurant has a good choice of various well prepared dishes, and breakfast is excellent. Service is very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel. Lovely comfortable bed in a cottage was great in itself, but we loved the main building with the relaxed style and main room. Great grounds around the hotel with lovely setting for pool. Around a 15 minute walk directly to rota vincentina and so a good base for walkers. We eat in the hotel one evening and meal was the best we had on our trip. Prawns followed by steak and black pork for the pair of us. Service throughout the hotel was perfect.

A super place to stay. It's in the middle of nowhere but provides great access to the beautiful Atlantic coast. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, the swimming pool really nice (even at the end of October!) and the restaurant was wonderful. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. Our stay was too short (curtailed by a flight cancellation) but we would love to return.

It feels like home. Usually our family likes to try new places, cities, countries but Herdade do Touril is the only place we have been repeating every year and will come back very soon again. It’s a place that you know you’ll not be disappointed and are treated like at home, from the breakfast to warm swimming pool or dinner. All details matter, truly recommend and please remain true to your promise and principles.
