Center Parcs Zandvoort Beach

Conveniently near Amsterdam so we booked a few days expecting typical Center Parcs quality, unfortunately Zandvoort have employed too many inexperienced staff who badly prepare the simple food on offer, and can't run the paid-for activities. We had two lifeguards running a slide experience who spent half of it tucked into a corner of the pool flirting instead of monitoring and assisting the children. I get the sense that there is a lack of enthusiastic and experienced leadership in the shift teams that might help the younger staff be more effective - some staffing plan somewhere has their ratios wrong. This is also not helped that there is a lack of necessary information available. The activities are poorly explained in terms of requirements and target audience, it's impossible to find out when kitchens in restaurants and cafes open and close without asking the staff, making planning anything in advance difficult. Online ordering systems don't match printed menus or advised timings, the app has only the most cursory information and even some of that is inaccurate. If this was a lower cost location I would be happy enough - the cottage is as-advertised and comfortable, the site is beautiful if in need of a coat of paint, and the aqua mundo is a great all-season pool and slide complex. But I have taken my son to Legoland in Denmark on a similar budget with a far better match between advertised and delivered experience. If Center Parcs want to be a more mid-market offering, they need to invest in their staff and update their self-service information to a modern standard.

We have just returned after spending Christmas here. It was lovely and clean, great facilities.The kids loved the swimming pool, the staff were helpful and friendly. Not far from the ferry port, easy train links to Amsterdam. We recommend visiting Elfteling Theme Park, it was magical ✨️

This Centerparcs is in a great location for visiting the beach but also close to the train with regular services to Haarlem and Amsterdam We loved our accommodation and the aqua mondo pool. In parts the park feels a bit dated and could do with a bit more maintenance e.g. painting. But this may be due to being the end of the summer season
