Madikwe Safari Lodge

I recently took my mother to Madikwe Safari Lodge for five nights as i had always wanted to take her on a South African safari. We had a truly memorable time: the lodge and accommodation was great, and all the staff were very friendly, attentive and highly accomodating, particularly as my mother had certain dietary requirements that needed to be met - they looked after her so well and the food was always excellent. In addition to the excellent service we received from all staff at the lodge, our safari guide (Petrus) was fun, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging and the game viewing was fantastic. I am fortunate to have been on safari a number of times before, so i had reasonably high expectations of the overall experience with Madikwe Safari Lodge, and those expectations were comfortably met. I would like to thank everyone at Madikwe Safari Lodge for giving my mother (and I) a most memorable experience - we would love to visit you again someday. Mark D

We stayed at the Lalapa Lodge part of Madikwe Safari Lodge. What a great stay, made special by Mike the 'driver' of our game vehicle. Mike has an extreme knowledge of the bush and animals and we coined him the animal whisperer as he found all the animals we wanted to see, and above all just a fantastic person. The lodge itself also gets 5 stars on every front. We wanted for nothing, the meals were very good, units were clean, staff were friendly, all round a perfect couple of days.

Just returned from a magical trip from Madikwe safari lodge. Whilst the weather was against us, the hospitality was out of this world and we saw an abundance of wildlife! With two kids aged 9 & 12 they were entertained from sunrise to sunset! Memories we will cherish. Our Guide Peter was amazing, so knowledgeable about the animals but also taught us all about the stars! We also pre arranged with Kelsey & Bryon to have some family pictures done. Not only did they go above and beyond to help us feel comfortable, they really did capture a moment in time for us! Thank you so much!

We loved our 5 nights at the Kopano Camp at the Madikwe Safari Lodge. Essentially we had private game drives for most of the time we were staying there! Frank, manager, Byron, game drive guide, Silvia, butler and Veronika, housekeeper were excellent! Our chef, Kamo was excellent as well! We really enjoyed the watering hole at our camp as well as the one at Lelapa. We saw a lot of annimals. If we had been 2 minutes earlier to our camp, we would have seen a leopard! Federal Airlines' flights to the Madikwe landing strip were fun. Overall, we had such a wonderful time that we are planning to go back to Africa soon.

Great park with off the clock game drives. Accommodation is great too and it’s super child friendly. However, the best bit is the staff. Our guide Petrus was awesome, so knowledgable and accommodating. Kelsie at front house can’t do enough for you and is very good at what she does. Frank is the best night time helper ever! The eco centre staff and babysitting staff are also top notch! Well done to you all

We had an incredible stay at Madikwe Safari Lodge and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was smooth, comfortable, and well-organized - and we been to many safaris! Our ranger, Regar, was a huge highlight of the trip. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to spot wildlife made every game drive exciting. He clearly loves what he does, and his passion made the experience even more special. We saw so much wildlife, but what stood out was how he explained everything in a way that made us appreciate every detail. The staff at the lodge were fantastic, especially Jonathan, who was always friendly and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and always checked in to see if we were comfortable. His service really stood out and made us feel welcome from day one. A big thank you to Natalie and Emery as well, who handled all the logistics perfectly. Everything ran so smoothly, from our arrival to our departure, and they were always available if we needed anything. The lodge itself is beautiful, the food was great, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed yet luxurious. If you’re looking for a safari experience with great service, knowledgeable guides, and a beautiful setting, I’d now always recommend Madikwe Safari Lodge. 6/5 stars.
