The Gast House Zell am See

Fabulous hotel for a week skiing. The room was small but sufficient. We are a family 3 so the room was a bit tight. Our friend who was a single guy had a much bigger room (same rate) than us so I am not sure how the rooms are allocated. We made it work though! The pool and sauna area were amazing. Just needed a jacuzzi and then it would be perfect! There is a bus stop next to the hotel (a couple of stops before the main bus station). The citi express station is a 10 minute walk with a food shop at the petrol station. An easy walk into the centre of zell with plenty of lovely restaurants. The breakfast was basic but fine. Limited hot choices but it was enough for us. They had an honesty bar for drinks but we one evening we brought our own drinks into the bar area and they had no issues with it. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got a great deal and would definitely return again. Thanks Gast house!

Was expecting a nice lakeside resort from the photos, but arrived and our room had a creaky bed and an awful view to a car park ramp. Asked to change rooms on two separate days but was told they didn't have any rooms free....(Or they would have to change too many things so it would be too much effort..) No air conditioning despite it being 30 degrees - had to request a fan from reception and carry it to the room and then leave a door open (to a road which isn't the safest...) Room clean enough overall, however our bedding had quite a bit of grey dust all over one of the pillow cases when it was changed which isn't great. Spa area ok - sauna was nice, pool was small and not heated (despite reading it was a warm pool). There was also shouting kids so didn't stay long. Sauna only operates from 2pm to 8pm which is odd as most people are out and about at that time anyway. Check in is very late (4pm) and check out is very early (10am). Luggage room unavailable so have to leave stuff in reception area and keep your fingers crossed nobody else comes and claims it. Normally in hotels you get tags and it's locked away. Staff did the bare minimum expected. Overall definitely not a 4 star hotel - equivalent to a basic 3 star hotel in reality. Pictures and some fairly nice decoration make it look better than it is. Wouldn't stay again to be honest.

Very nice hotel next to the lake. Comfortable , functional , good breakfast , clean and high quality fit outs in the room . Small but functional spa, indoor pool and gym. The staff were helpful . Conveniently located closed to restaurants and main town centre . The complimentary coffee machine brews prefect coffee . We will be back again !

One of the beautiful and comfortable hotels provides free services to customers, including a Zell am See card and free coffee all day. Breakfast is limited but good The crew is helpful They provided help and details about everything From the time of entry to the time of exit

Beautifully modern yet cozy hotel in a great location. Rooms are spacious with kitchenette equipped with basics. There are even welcome drinks in the fridge. We enjoyed the pool although the sauna didn’t seem to be working. We enjoyed the patio off our room. A great place to stay

Great welcome. The quality of services at the top. Very attentive staff. Very good breakfast. Very good tips for visiting the area. We shall come back for certain. We recommande this place warmly....
