Reception staff are not friendly and were defensive when expressing my concerns about our room soon after check in. They made no effort to make my stay any better. Room (117) was very dated with a badly stained sofa. The bathroom was unventilated with black mould on the ceiling and walls. The room was very warm with no A/C. We had to leave the window open all night. Very noisy room with banging noises coming from directly above until early hours of the morning. Bar closes during dinner hours. It is ski in/ski out for advanced skiers only (black/red slopes). Breakfast was average. Half board evening meals were okay if you liked what was listed on the menu. A bottle of tap water is €4.80. We ate out most nights as restaurants are much better in the town. Sauna was not working for most of the week and is very small. Steam room fits 2 x persons only.

The location is fantastic close to the cable cars and mountain activities. Regarding the accommodation the family room is not at the level of a four stars: just over the kitchen with no view, very tiny bathroom without separate toilet, no AC and the furniture is past century. The room was very warm like the whole building. Very difficult to park and if you’re late there s no possibility to have a snack or room service.

The rooms were ok for 3 of us ( Dad + 2 sons) There was a fridge in room with nothing in it. Also no supermarket nearby to even stock it up. The room was warm with no way to adjust the temperature so we ended up leaving the window open. There was a coffee machine in the room with about 5 complementary capsules. No long life milk either. Once you run out off capsules you have to buy the at reception - which feels like the hotel is on a tight budget. There's one lift which is very small. Shower was good and strangely the sink was right by the front door rather than being in the shower/toilet area. Food is passable but not luxurious and similar each day. You have to pay for drinks including water (I think that is normal in Austria) Breakfast is the same everyday. The swimming pool is freezing so ok if you like cold water swimming, but not what I want to sooth my aching legs after a day's skiing. The jacuzzi is literally a bath tub with air jets, so hard to fit more than one in. Both these contribute to the 'tight budget' feeling. Sauna is naked which was off putting for my teenage son. So for me the wellness facilities were a waste of money. Outside Apes ski bar was shut even at high season - no famous Austrian apres ski here Ski to your door is limited as you either need to come from the nursery slopes or down one of the 2 black runs to make it. Otherwise you have to come down red 20 and walk a little bit. We were woken up twice before 9am for room service as we forgot to put the sign out to keep them away. It annoyed me but you may like the attentiveness My opinion is it is not very hospitable, and rather off putting and not worth the money I paid at peak season. I won't go back. That said it may be just what you want.

Very efficient and comfortable hotel, super convenient for the slopes and a very manageable transfer from Salzburg airport. Food was good and restaurant service friendly without being pushy. Slight niggles were first that our junior suite was just one big room rather than having any kind of second sleeping area. The other was that the spa pool was really quite chilly.

Loved Vaya! Lady on reception was lovely and welcoming. Facilities were fantastic (sauna & steam on a daily basis were perfect in the cold weather). Bedroom was clean, comfortable and not to forget the most stunning views on the slopes. The food was amazing! One of the best half board hotels I’ve had the pleasure to eat it! Fresh tasty food cooked for each meal. Our waiter wasn’t particularly freindly but perhaps he was having a bad week :) Thanks Vaya, we will definitely be coming back! Room 308 16th - 19th Feb

A good modern hotel, where everything is clean. The staff are efficient and it is a good location for skiers, right at the bottom of the ski lifts. Big drawback however, if you like wine with your dinner on holiday. The wine list is very very limited, and there are only half a dozen red wines which seem to be all Austrian. In my opinion, these seem overpriced. There are no wines from countries like France, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Argentina, Australia, etc. Why would they do that? It’s our holiday!!
