The family that run the hotel are the nicest and genuinely the most helpful people i've met on my travels. They help organise your time in the nearby national park, give you maps, arrange lifts, and in the restaurant connected provide some banging local cuisine. 10/10 would recommend.

Very lovely village hostel, Carol is really helpful and welcoming, the restaurant is also very nice and its a really calm environment. Though the village is not that much, I really do recommend visiting the village, its full with nice people.

I chose this homestay because of the comments about the English speaking host, who can help with your routes through the Nationalpark. It all came true. Carol is a well informed and caring host, planing individual routes for each day. Being at the west gate has pros and cons, for me it was definitely worth it. You enter the Park ‚the wrong way‘ and therefore never have to worry about standing in queues in the morning for hours for the cableway or elevator. You still have to figure out some stuff on your own, but that’s fine. In the village itself there is not much to do, which is no problem as you are exhausted from the day hiking. If you plan on exploring the Park 3-4 days this is the best place to stay. If you only have 2-3 days and also want to visit the glass bridge or tianmen mountain, a more central stay may be to consider as they are far away and you will get stuck in the crowds.

One of the best hotels to book in 张家界， the hotel management it's super friendly to any foreigners ( perfect English) so no language struggles during the visit, They even helped us to book a taxi back to the train station. The hotel it's only 5 min away from the national park, so it's super convenient to move from the park to the hotel. I will come back without a doubt!!

We stayed in the Hostel because it was suggested by another friend.
Carol took care of us along with the other lady preparing the meals.
We were able to get our clothes cleaned and eat amazing local food.
Carol's English is perfect and she is very knowledgeable about the Zhangjiajie's park routes as well as the area surrounding the hostel. On the last day she showed us a local market, where we bought spices! Amazing stay!

Carol is a wonderful hostess, kind, welcoming, friendly. She speaks excellent English. She helped me with tickets and advised what routes to take and how to better pass them in the park. The place is very clean, light, with a very nice design. In their restaurant they serve delicious homemade food! This hotel has everything you need to come back after exploring the park and get all the pleasure relaxing there. As for me, I was writing my book there, and the whole peaceful atmosphere of the place and people there inspired me a lot. Many thanks to all and everyone! Wish you success and flourishing! Highly recommend.
