Zhangjiajie Yuji Hotel

I stayed for 2 nights and was really impressed. The staff were friendly and helpful, even assisting with tickets to all the attractions and offering great recommendations. The room was brand new, clean, and had amazing amenities, including a large projector screen. They also provide a free shuttle service, and the car was brand new and super comfortable with massaging seats. Plus, they have two adorable Ragdoll cats that were a delightful touch! Highly recommend this place!

The hotel location is convenient, within 10 mins walk to the main street, Wuling Road where there are many restaurants and shops. Room is spacious and newly build in Mar 2025. When we were assigned a room facing the old apartments, I was very unhappy. Thankfully we were upgraded to a larger room facing the hotel across the road. Breakfast choice is very limited. We stayed for 4 nights and were quite tired of the same food towards the end. So feedback was given for improvement. The free one way transport to the rail station was useful. The hotel rate is cheaper than others in the Wulingyuan area. It is a good deal if you can get a room not facing the old apartments and the hotel improves its standard of breakfast.

It was good experience, staff helped us out in planning and booking of our excursions, they are extraordinary supportive.

The first impression was good. It offers guests a pick-up/drop-off service, so I was picked up from Zhangjiajie Railway Station. The reception is on the 7th floor, as are the breakfast area, basic gym, and 3 washing machines and dryers. The hotel has a nice rooftop area with amazing surrounding views. The location is within 10-15 minutes walking distance to the shopping area and a short taxi/Didi ride (1.2km) to Zhangjiajie National Park East Gate entrance. There is a small swimming pool at ground level. The pool is not heated and is in full view of residential units at the back of the hotel. The hotel also has two resident cats in the reception area. The room has a modern design with a Xiaodudu smart device (Google Home/Alexa), but it doesn't function well with English. It also has a smart toilet. However, I had an unpleasant experience with the hotel/service. I don't think I will stay there again or recommend it to others. 1. There is a rather large mold on the ceiling, though the hotel only opened about 7 months ago. (Photo attached.) Knowing mold spores can cause health issues, especially in a closed room, I requested a room change. Initially, they refused and forced me to stay overnight in the room with a promise that it would be cleaned tomorrow. I refused to stay overnight in that room, and in the end, they found me another room that had just been vacated. However, I had to wait for almost two hours for them to make that room ready, and because of that, I could only sleep close to midnight when I had to wake up early the next day as my ticket entry to Zhangjiajie National Park was at 7 am. 2. I also found a rather big black beetle insect crawling on the wall in that mouldy room. 3. The television in the new room is not working and is broken. I requested it to be fixed, and they offered me another room, which I refused. They finally swapped the TV from another room. 4. The aircon controller in the room is useless as I can't keep the temperature steady at 21 degrees Celsius, and I barely slept well. The next day, I reported the issue to the receptionist. However, she blamed me for my lack of knowledge. She set the aircon for me and said it would stay at 21 degrees Celsius. Not long after she left, the temperature increased from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. She came back shortly, apologizing, and said the technician mentioned the temperature is centrally controlled for the whole building. She advised me to switch off the aircon to lower the temperature, then switch it on again when I feel cold. 5. Once you use the two tea bags provided in the room, they will not be replenished. I stayed for three nights. 6. The mess/debris from the drywall created when swapping the television didn't get cleaned. 7. The room was never vacuumed properly; the food debris from the previous occupant was still visible. 8. The toilet area is separated by a glass partition from the shower area and is supposed to be a dry area. However, it isn't sealed properly, and water seeps in from the shower area, making the toilet area always wet.

Complimentary railway station shuttle, warm service and hospitality, nice room decoration, bidet with remote control, game-changing Xiaodu home assistant, decently-equipped mini gym. Location wise can be quite subjective (quiet and serene at the price of 3-5 minute taxi ride to Biaozhimen or the more happening Wuling Road). A bit overwhelming to the extent that staffs were always occupied and I did not manage to get pillow set for the third occupant in my room. In the end, I had to use zabuton on tatami as the makeshift pillow. Please inform the front desk if you do not want housekeeping service, as the cleaner might have overlooked my Do Not Disturb lamp.

This newly opened (Mar 2025) hotel provides excellent services (front desk, breakfast aunty, driver ah nan). They bought all the attraction tickets on our behalf and taught us how to get there. Even upgraded our room with bathtub so that both rooms are on the same floor. Oh they have 2 lovely cats too (very clean and friendly)
