Zhangjiajie Cloud Youth Hostel recensioner

Host is a super nice guy and very helpful. He helps you book your tickets as well as with communication and he has many good tips for you. Usually people hang downstairs, there are also three cute cats. Usually people order food and have dinner together. You will easily meet fellow travelers here. The place is otherwise very basic and could need repairs and more frequent cleanups. But that is not the focus here. The hostel is also close to the starting point to Tianmen mountain. PS: The package for the avatar mountains has hiked to 450 RMB including cablecars and elevator (you can use the ticket on 4 consecutive days). 12 RMB to take the bus to its south gate. You need two days to finish the avatar mountains. Then one more day for Tianmen mountain. Another day for the canyon, if you want.

The owner is really helpful and can give a lot of advice. You'll also meet travelers from around the world, which can be good to exchange information.

Definitely backpacking hostel vibes but for the price you can't really complain Room Only one of the beds had a curtain around it and it was already taken. Bed was alright. There's a lock on the entrance to the hostel that I wasn't told how to unlock so just sort of had to knock and hope someone would let me in then theres a lock on the room doors but was also not given a key to that so it just stays open Bathroom Some of the showers look a bit grubby and the toilet smelt a bit funky but they do the job Hosting As with most 24 hours receptions I've encountered in china, it is not really 24 hours. The guy manning the desk seemed pretty friendly and some guests were sitting with him on the bottom floor and they mentioned that we could join them to go out to eat as well so it seems like a pretty social kind of hostel. I believe they can support you with booking tickets to Tianmen and Zhangjiajie Amenities I think they also have a cafe. Again no one was at reception and I didn't have their wechat so I couldn't ask about luggage storage but they seemed fine when I came to pick it up later in the day so there's that as well

Unfortunately the service from the main staff member can’t make up for the condition of this hostel. I spent 2 nights and left before the 3rd. No cleaning done whatsoever- old food and items left by previous guests just stayed there. Multiple items and junk under the beds. Mattresses very old and compacted now. No outside lock on the rooms, and no key to keep people out. I felt unsafe. I was freezing cold as no heater working. If there was, it was certainly never turned on and no remote shown. Bathroom/toilet just a screen door in the hallway that can be opened at anytime while you are bathing. Downstairs area cluttered of old used coffee filters and surfaces covered in dust. It would take literal days of cleaning to rectify it was so bad.

Great location! A bit cold in the winter months but the airconditioning can also be used as a heater. The host was very helpful if we had any questions.

A bed without a matress, and the toilet in the hal was soooooo cold it was imposible for me to take a shower and i have been in so manny hostels around Azia but never like this. But the guy who works there was very helpful with tours and info.

The owner can help book all your tickets to the tourist attractions for cheaper than if you went in person or booked online. Good common area for meeting other travelers, even was watching the Euros on the big screen! Shower hot water pressure was a bit sad

The place is really well located. Near Tianmen Mountain entrance and near the bus station that leads you to the National Park in 40 Min or so. Nearby there's a lot of small shops and restaurants where to have a meal and a post office where to receive packages. The owner also has a delicious dinner every night. The cleanliness could improve.  Nevertheless, the owner is really helpful. He helped me when I missed the last bus at the National Park. Also you can book tickets for the main attractions cheaper than in the ticket office of each.  It has a laundry room where you can wash clothes for so little price. I highly recommend you to stay here for having a good rest, commodities and a comfy stay at Zhangjiajie.
