XingYuan Hostel

It was a really nice hostel, the staff were very helpful and provided us with services to visit near by attractions at a good price. They even gave us water melon for free.

I booked a bed in the female dormitory for 2 nights, my friends booked other beds/rooms. The hostel has all the necessary amenities. There is even a washing machine if you need to do laundry. The bedding was fresh and clean. Plenty of sockets for charging devices. You will need to bring your own shower gel for the shower and the toilets are squat toilets which is standard in China. Met a lovely German girl while staying here. The host is a lovely and very helpful woman, she assisted us with any queries and even gave us some watermelon while we waited for our driver. If you want to visit any of the popular tourist spots in the Zhangye area she can organise a car tour for you and very reasonable prices- all very easy through WeChat. I visited the rainbow mountains/Zhangye National Geopark/Zhangye Danxia Geopark (张掖国家地质公园) and Mati Si temple (马蹄寺) while in Zhangye. The hostel is in a very good location too. The common area is nice and there is a tea station where you can help yourself to a cup of tea. All in all a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

The best thing about this hostel is the friendly owner. No matter how many times I asked where I should go or where the local restaurants are, he gave me detailed information. There aren't many places where you can stay at such a cheap price. I highly recommend it.

This is very nice hostel to stay, right next to the night market! Very accessible location, all the attractions are near by. Also the hostel is clean, comfortable bed and the owner is very nice and helpful! She helped me to arrange transport to the Rainbow Mountains. Highly recommending this place!

This hotel is perfect for foreigners since it is close to Dafo temple and the reception can book you chartered tours to Mati Si, Rainbow mountains (è pieno di dive slay kunt kunt che si fanno le foto x redbook quindi vestitevi bene per non sfigurare) and Pingshan Grand Canyon, which is extremely useful since there is little to no public transportation to these places. For some of this attractions you can also get a discount on the ticket if you book with them (but you might not be able to use other discounts like the one for college students). The hotel can be challenging to locate since it's on the second floor of a building, look up for the "wolf tours" sign. The room are spacious enough but a little bit dusty and the shower doesn't have walls. Lovely stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice atmosphere. Everything you might need. Highly recommend. Plus the hostel is in a central location.
