Meininger Hotel Zürich Greencity

Un competent staff. Did not speak German nor English well. The hotel smells like cleaning chemicals. Had to sleep with window open at 0°C . Smell was intolerable. The shower was a fungus fest. Did Not even try to step in with bear feet Never coming back

Poor facilities, very dirty room, away from the city not providing travel card. The toilet was dirty and stayed dirty even after the cleaning of the room. The breakfast was just ok in comparison with the price or the room. The furniture on the is very cheap.

This is a delightful, modern, stylish hotel, perfect for backpackers, families and all types of tourist. It’s located in a quiet, well laid out neighbourhood of Zurich which is only 5 mins to the nearest station on buses, and 10 mins by train to Zurich HBF. We arrived in the morning after a long night train journey, but the staff very kindly found us a room for us to check in very early (for a small fee). If you want to save money in Zurich this hotel is perfect because it has a fantastic self-service kitchen with well organised fridge (and labels for your food!), which is kept spotlessly clean. The room was a good size with comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom and shower. The atmosphere among the staff and guests was friendly, relaxed and very welcoming. The price of the room was also terrific value, especially given that Zürich is a very expensive city. When we come back to Zurich in future we will 100% book at this hotel

1) Good day, my name is Gabriel. This summer I went to visit my school friend in Germany, he moved to Frankfurt am Main last winter. My father and I decided to take the opportunity and go to Switzerland, which is located nearby, exactly to Zurich. This can be called my trip of a lifetime, because Switzerland is one of those countries where I really wanted to visit. Due to many circumstances, the choice fell on Meininger. 2) We had a standard double room with two separate beds.3) 1 the advice probably applies to all EU countries, but for Switzerland for sure, you must have a debit card, no matter how obviously it sounds. There are a number of services in this country, such as a hotel, which now accept only cards. 2 the advice may also seem evident, but I will do it anyway. I knew that the official currency in Switzerland is francs, but from sources on the Internet it can be concluded that euros are also accepted there, but this is not the truth,аs for I found out. It is necessary to look for an exchanger not at the train station, where it is very expensive, and before 5-6 o'clock in the evening, since they all just close.4) Out of the unusual for me, I can highlight the presence of a shared kitchen at the bottom of the hotel and a recreation area, I had never seen this anywhere before. I can't remember anything more unusual for me right now. 6) The place where we stopped is quite far from the center, about 30-40 minutes away, by the standards of the city itself, this is a lot, but the price is certainly lower than in the center. But nearby, literally 10-15 minutes away, there is an exit to the pier to the very beautiful Lake Zurich.Since we traveled light, we easily covered the distances on foot and visited all the main attractions in the center for 2 days. We stayed there for only about a day and went back to Germany.7) The bed was comfortable enough, nothing unusual. I can't say that the room surpassed my expectations. There were: Chair,table,wardrobe,bathroom.8) The room was clean, the staff was competent. Summing up, the trip turned out to be extremely eventful, we saw a lot in a short time, but I can't say that I will definitely come back there soon, because there are many amazing places in the world where I would like to visit.

Very helpful staff on reception and rooms were immaculately clean with very contemporary decor. Table Fussball was a nice addition and WiFi was reliable throughout. Easy 10min train ride into central Zurich and Spar shop only 5mins walk away. Guest kitchen only had couple of saucepans and was very crowded - would benefit from having a 2nd hob and sink… Couple of large student groups staying throughout our stay made it very busy and noisy - worth checking if there are large group bookings coinciding as we hadn’t checked… Nice base and a reasonable price given how expensive Switzerland can be!

DO NOT STAY HERE - THEY STOLE MONEY FROM OUR BANK ACCOUNT. WE TRIED TO REDUCE THE LENGTH OF STAY AND THEY INCREASED OUR OVERALL STAY AMOUNT AND TOOK THE WHOLE AMOUNT. We are a young family and they took nearly £400 our of our account for a stay that didn't happen. They were uncontactable by phone and did not reply to any emails. I am DISGUSTED. Travelers - BEWARE!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!! PLEASE STEER CLEAR!!
