These children are allowed to select seats on AVE, AVE International, and Avant trains, and they can make changes or request refunds based on the ticket type, which may involve a fee. Children under four travel for free but do not receive a reserved seat. On Cercanías trains, children under six can travel for free without a reserved seat.

Renfe Over-60s Fare

With the Tarjeta Dorada, Renfe offers up to 40% discounts for those aged over 60. The card costs €6 for one year, €12 for two years, and €15 for three years. If you are travelling on AVE and AVE international trains, you can get a 25% discount. For Avant trains, discounts vary between weekdays and weekends: 25% during weekdays and 40% on weekends.
