Wonderful stay. Everything just lovely for our family holiday. Breakfast was good and with variety that changes day to day. Love the infinity pool. Free parking. Will stay again when back in Penang

The hotel might have been a grand one 20 years ago, but currently the room and facilities are dated and worn down. Public beach is accessible, but not advised to swim in the sea due to presence of jellyfishes. The carpets outside the rooms smelled musky. Swimming pool is always crowded and too small for the occupancy rates. Went for the complimentary exercise classes, but they were way too simplistic and a waste of time to attend. Gym also smelled bad from the sweat and equipment. Everything in the breakfast either was way too sweet or high in salt content, but it’s hard to get breakfast in the morning nearby so it’s either you eat here or end up hungry. True to its advisement, this hotel is catered to families with young children, so expect lots of rowdiness, noise and tantrums from the occupants.

Great hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. However, these were relatively minor issues and did not significantly affect the overall experience. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and friendly service. With a few small improvements, it has the potential to be an even better place to stay. I would certainly consider returning in the future.”

Facing the ocean view with the fresh sea breeze and peaceful atmosphere was truly relaxing — we even forgot there was a TV in the room. The walking path on the ground floor, with the displayed items and photos, brought back wonderful memories of the past. The continental breakfast, along with nice coffee and tea, was another highlight of our stay. Whenever I travel to Penang George Town again, this will definitely be the only hotel I choose to stay at.

This is one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed at. The staff is exceptional and extremely friendly. The environment is elegant and welcoming. The grounds are impeccably manicured. The dining experience is classy but reasonably priced. The rooms are well cared for, comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet has a wide array of options and is very delicious. This hotel is very remote and is a fifty minute drive to Georgetown....but the seaview is worth the extra traveling. Thanks to the ENTIRE staff for giving us such lasting memories. 💛💛

The George Hotel was ideal. Its location is perfect—walkable to attractions yet quietly set back. Every staff member we encountered was wonderfully helpful. Our top-floor loft room was spacious, peaceful, and well-equipped. The breakfast offered a good basic variety with rotating local dishes. While we didn't use the gym or pool, we loved the standout features: smart wash-and-dry toilets, a powerful hot shower, complimentary welcome treats, free chilled lemon water, and fragrant elevators. Areas needs improvement: No body lotion Steam room doesn’t work Q tips are too soft, need better stronger ones.

Really perfect stay. They even provide four pillows for each queen bed, which made the bed extremely comfortable. The whole hotel is very clean and the room was cozy and relaxing. The only small issue was that during room service cleaning, the toilet paper was not refilled. Other than that, everything else was great. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and will definitely come back again.
