We really enjoyed our stay at Chalet Hotel. The staff was so accommodating and sweet. We would like to thank SuSu for being so helpful. The hotel is clean and in a great location. We highly recommend for couples as it’s quiet and convenient. The breakfast was amazing and there was a large variety. We would stay here again. They are also kind enough to store our luggage.
I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived, always ready to help with anything I needed. The free airport transfer to Hongqiao was a huge convenience and made my travel so much easier.
One of the highlights was the robot delivery service—super efficient and fun to use! It added a modern, high-tech touch to the experience. And of course, the adorable cat in the lobby absolutely melted my heart. It made the atmosphere feel warm, cozy, and unique.
Overall, this hotel combines excellent service, great amenities, and a charming personality. Highly recommended! — Eric & Ping :)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Wonderful Stay – Truly Unforgettable Experience
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel and would like to give our highest possible recommendation from the bottom of our hearts.
From the very first moment we arrived, we felt not like ordinary guests, but like truly welcome and valued people. The atmosphere in the hotel is incredibly warm, calm, and pleasant — it really feels like a place where you can fully relax and enjoy your time.
The room was perfect: extremely clean, well-maintained, beautifully prepared, and what impressed us especially was the fresh and pleasant smell — everything felt cozy, comfortable, and carefully looked after. Housekeeping is doing an excellent job, and cleanliness is clearly a top priority here.
Breakfast was delicious and enjoyable, with fresh and tasty food that gave us a great start to each day. We truly looked forward to breakfast every morning.
One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the reception team. The girls and boys at the front desk are not only friendly, but also highly professional, attentive, and genuinely caring.
We would like to give special thanks to Nini (妮妮). From the very beginning, she helped us with a serious personal issue during our stay. We faced a big problem, and thanks to her patience, responsibility, and sincere desire to help, she supported us step by step and even helped us get our money back.
This level of care is far beyond standard hotel service. She proved that the reception team here is not just present for formalities — they truly help guests solve real and important problems. We are deeply grateful to her.
The entire reception team always tried to accommodate our requests in every possible way, making sure our stay was comfortable and stress-free. Their attitude made us feel truly cared for.
Another lovely detail was the availability of bath salt, which made our evenings especially relaxing after a long day. Small thoughtful touches like this make a big difference.
We traveled as a couple and spent our time here almost like a honeymoon. It was a romantic, peaceful, and joyful experience. We rested deeply, felt refreshed, and were completely satisfied with the hotel, the service, and the whole team.
We are extremely happy with our stay and can confidently say that we will definitely return.
Thank you so much to the entire hotel team — especially Nini — for creating such a wonderful and memorable experience. You are doing an outstanding job!

I had a very pleasant stay at Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden I arrived early around 11 AM, and the staff were extremely helpful in assisting with an early check-in, which I truly appreciated after a long journey.
The room I booked met all my expectations. I chose the duck-themed room, and it was absolutely perfect—especially for my child, who loved it so much. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for families.
I also requested a late check-out until 7 PM, and the hotel kindly offered an option to extend the stay by adding extra hours. This flexibility was very helpful for my schedule.
One thing that stood out was the bathroom, which was equipped with a bidet. As an Indonesian family, this is something we really value for personal hygiene, and it made our stay much more comfortable.
The hotel’s location is very strategic. It is close to Xiaotaoyuan Mosque, making it very convenient for Muslim guests, especially for attending Friday prayers. In addition, the hotel provides a shuttle service to Yu Yuan Garden and other nearby tourist attractions, which made exploring the area much easier.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families and Muslim travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and thoughtful amenities in Shanghai.

Location? Perfect. But let's talk about the rest...
Walking distance to The Bund and People's Square, convenience stores downstairs, a few casual eateries nearby—honestly, you can't beat that.
Would I recommend this hotel? Only if location is your absolute priority and you're skipping breakfast.
Booked this hotel on the morning of arrival. With limited options for 4 people in one room, this one looked good ”1 Queen bed and 1 Double bed”, breakfast included.
Checked in at 6pm, and the front desk said my room type wasn't ready yet, but they could offer me a larger room immediately. Great, I thought. Went upstairs, only to find a Queen bed + a sofa bed.
Went back down to request a swap, they handled it quickly. No complaints about that. But the communication could have been much clearer. Telling me the room is bigger is fine, but maybe mention that the ”second bed” is actually a sofa bed? Comfort-wise, a sofa bed is just not the same as a proper double, and it doesn’t fit for two.
The Room: Matched the photos but watch out
- Cleanliness was fine, basic amenities provided.
- The bed was actually comfortable. Slept well.
- TV remote was broken – didn't really affect us since we weren't there to watch TV, but worth noting.
- Flooring could be a hazard – some uneven, slightly sharp areas that weren't comfortable to walk on barefoot.
Housekeeping: The warmest part of our stay
A special shout-out to the housekeeping lady on the 5th floor. We only stayed 2 nights and didn't need full cleaning—just wanted fresh towels in the morning. She was genuinely attentive, proactively checking if we had enough bottled water or toilet paper without us having to ask. Her warm, thoughtful attitude stood out in the best way.
Breakfast: Good food, but chaos and attitude
The breakfast spread itself was decent—quite a variety. But the management of the breakfast area? A mess.
You get checked in at the door and then left to find your own table.
- Day 1: Walked around for 5 minutes. No table. A cleaning lady helped us find one outside the dining area.
- Day 2: Same thing. When I pointed it out to the breakfast receptionist at the entrance. To be fair, she did go inside to look for a table for us. Even she couldn't find one. She walked around, came back empty-handed, and still had that unhappy look on her face. I get that she tried to help, but the attitude? Yeah, that part stayed.
Also, some guests' behavior was unexpected, half-eaten bread left at the coffee station, guests packing food into their own containers. Not the hotel's fault, but it added to the chaos.
Lobby: Actually quite nice
Gotta give credit where it's due—the lobby is lovely. There's a piano, comfortable seating areas, and a mobile library with books. It's a genuinely relaxing space.
The Final Straw:
Last day. Check-out time. Staff handed us a small gift, hand cream souvenir. Nice, right? Except they insisted we leave a positive review on Trip.com right there, in front of them. Came the comment: ”But we already gave you the gift.” Said in a tone that made it feel less like a gesture and more like a transaction.
I declined and said I'd do it later. Her face dropped immediately, then turned to other staffs, started speaking in Mandarin, and the way the others looked at us was uncomfortable. Like we were the difficult ones.
Look, I get it. Reviews matter. Hotels need them. But asking for reviews should be done with zero pressure. This felt forced, awkward, and left a sour taste right at the end.
And honestly? It made me even more determined to write this review honestly. Because this is what actually happened.

GGästanvändareWe had a really pleasant stay at Waiting Century Hotel. We’re a group of 4 persons and booked a duplex room for our stay in Shanghai.
Good location, especially for those who travel to other cities like Wuxi, Suzhou, even Hangzhou. It’s a walking distance to Shanghai Railway Station and metro. Around the hotel, there are convenience stores (Lawson, Family Mart) and coffee shops (Luckin Coffee, Manner Coffee) and other local restaurants.
The hotel also provides free coffee, ice, and some candy at the lobby. The hotel staff are also nice.
One downside though. The 2nd floor of the duplex room is a bit hot. You need to open the window and let the air outside into your room.
Overall, a really good place to stay.

SSanta’s helperOur stay was amazing thanks to the great staff and their helpfulness. They provided a crib for my infant and the facilities were all very clean. Family friendly.
DDsonTThe location of this hotel is it's saving grace as July street is a fascinating walk in the old french quarters and it's many speakeasy bars.
This hotel only appeals to those interested in old western living, which is true to it's detail. The old wooden floors, windows and very quiet surroundings so take you away from the city.
The concierge was unhelpful to say the least to our needs, especially compared to the hotels we have stayed in the last week. He was very reluctant to assist with our restaurant reservation, which was unusual given their hospitality standards.
Stay for the vibes and Julu street.
SSiyun ChenWe were upgraded to the executive room, i think thats what they said to me, anyway, very much appreciated for the upgrade. Front desk staffs were alright.
The room was huge for 3, and the view were excellent. Room maybe kinda outdated. Pillow was too flat. Aircon was noisy but not a nuisance.
Breakfast selection was acceptable. Cleanliness good.
