I always appreciate a luggage rack but one in a room for 2 people is ridiculous.
We also got unlucky with the bathroom as the shower curtain was mounted wrong so taking a shower meant creating a lake in the bathroom.
The hotel is not very well organised, we had to wait a lot to check-in and when it was finally our turn, even though the room was ready, we would have had to pay to check in earlier for mere 50 minutes. Embarrassing.
We left the luggages and came back later and had to queue again with all the guests that had just arrived, for more than half an hour. We only needed the key cards, we already did all the paperwork.
They preauthorised 50€ per night on our cards, in case we wanted to use the room service or the restaurant, which we explained we didn’t. And if you looked at the room service menu, you wouldn’t want to as well..
I would expect a famous chain like the Hilton to know that “Taglietelle Carbonara” doesn’t exist, it’s “Spaghetti carbonara” or “Rigatoni alla carbonara”.
Furthermore “Spaghetti bolognese” doesn’t exist as well, it’s “tagliatelle bolognese”.
There’s a pool but it’s unclear if it’s available to every guest. The staff is not keen on divulging information.
It would be nice if more of the staff would be able to speak English (and maybe a third language) as a lot of the guests are tourists from other countries.
Die Zimmer sind sauber, das Personal super freundlich. Wir hatten es nicht geschafft unseren schon bezahlten Wellnesseintritt zu nutzen und konnten das am nächsten Tag aber nachholen. Super Preis für das Angebot. Das hat mich überzeugt auch bald wiederzukommen.
Hotel at good location, walking distance to major attractions with many eateries around. We are upgraded to the junior suite, the room is big and the bed is comfortable. The staff are helpful, will recommend this hotel to those visiting Dresden. Walking to Dresden HBF is about 20 mins which is not very far.
Vi var där under mässan, vilket tyvärr var lite begränsande. Frukosten flyttades till ett område som inte var lika inbjudande som själva rummet! Det var synd med tanke på priset, eftersom den övergripande upplevelsen här handlar om atmosfären och känslan. Läget är utmärkt, med en fantastisk utsikt över Dresdens skyline. Rummen var rena och prydliga! Personalen bestod av en hel del unga, till synes osäkra servitörer; vi tror att de bara höll på att tränas. Därför vill jag inte ge ett betyg; alla måste börja någonstans :) Sammantaget en trevlig vistelse med några mindre nackdelar!

The room is big. Unfortunately we didn’t know that we have to take executive rooms in order to have the access to executive boardroom. Could be better if it specifies at the booking page. But overall it was a pleasant stay.
Wir haben das Tuchmacher zum zweiten Mal gebucht, da es nahe der Altstadt liegt und selbst über ein historisches Ambiente verfügt. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Parkplatzsituation ist etwas umständlich, aber letztlich kann das Auto sicher geparkt werden.

Mycket bra läge varifrån stadens centrum lätt kan nås till fots. Frukostområdet är mycket trevligt och maten är utmärkt. Tyvärr är parkering oerhört dyrt för 25 € per dag.
Das Hotel hat unsere Erwartungen voll und ganz erfüllt! Die Lage ist hervorragend – in nur wenigen Minuten ist man mitten in der Altstadt und der Fußgängerzone, und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und von guter Qualität, sodass der Tag perfekt starten konnte. Die Zimmer waren sauber, groß und sehr gemütlich, man hat sich sofort wohlgefühlt. Auch die Parkgarage war ein großer Pluspunkt und sehr praktisch. Rundum ein gelungener Aufenthalt, wir können das Hotel weiterempfehlen!

I had Cesar Salad with chicken which was very small salad was also bad mostly Lettuce struggle to find croutons and Parmesan
Wife had Ham sausage with sauce that tasted like tomato sauce with curry powder
Do your self a favour have dinner elsewhere

Smelled of sewage in the bathroom. Weird interior design with huge glasswall between bed and bathroom is very unpractical at night with all the light going to wake others who are sleeping.

I recently stayed at Hotel Ocidental Dresden Newa, and while the property benefits from a central location in the inner city, the overall experience was disappointing.
The hotel’s greatest advantage is indeed its proximity to the city center, allowing convenient access to major attractions and public transportation. However, aside from this, the stay was overshadowed by several shortcomings.
Firstly, the amenities were very limited, and the guest room itself appeared dated and somewhat worn, reflecting the age of the hotel. This left an impression of tiredness rather than comfort.
The most concerning issue, however, relates to the parking situation. The hotel advertises that it offers its own parking facilities, yet in reality, this is not the case. Guests are required to use a public parking facility nearby, which is misleading and highly inconvenient. This information should be corrected immediately, as it creates false expectations for visitors arriving by car.
Additionally, the area in front of the hotel is consistently overcrowded with parked vehicles, often blocking arriving guests from accessing the entrance or unloading luggage during check-in. This further contributed to a frustrating arrival experience.
In conclusion, while the central location is undeniably practical, the limited amenities, outdated rooms, misleading information about parking, and poorly managed entrance area significantly detract from the overall quality of the stay. I would strongly recommend the management address these issues to ensure a more accurate representation of the hotel and a better experience for future guests.

RRPSMThe hotel is very well situated and fantastic bar upstairs we didn’t use the breakfast place, but it’s looked very good. The air-conditioning is very good. It’s one of the few hotels in fact the only hotel in Germany that we stayed at that had a good air conditioning. There’s a parking at the hotel but we use the one in the central Plaza and that cost €20 a night. Everything was comfortable it’s a hotel. I would recommend.
GGästanvändareNot a great experience overall. Location is not directly off any public transportation line so bear in mind lugging luggage on cobblestone can be very taxing. Service was slow at check-in. Only one staff was there in the evening, and a short queue formed to check-in while waiting for the staff to get off the phone. At check-in, room was automatically assigned via iPad, which was not a courtyard view as advertised on Trip.com, but rather a view of the garbage dump (from room 101). Went back down to ask for a change of room, and 45 frustrating minutes later, the front desk said it was because of the room category and “offered to upgrade” for 20 euros additional per night. After travelling for a long time, I didn’t want to waste any more time with a back and forth as to why Trip.com advertised a courtyard view, and the hotel gave me a garbage dump view instead, so I obliged. The new room however, was much better with a view of the Thomaskirche opposite, a lot more internal space, and a mini kitchenette.
GGästanvändareWithin walking distance of a great shopping street and about 25 minutes walk from the castle and lovely architecture. Staff were helpful and check in was smooth. Had to go down to reception to borrow a kettle and a mug as they don’t put them in rooms, apparently had many incidents of guests stealing the kettles? Aside from that, very convenient and sparkling clean. Heaters were very warm and beds were comfy.
Ssalvalasilvia The hotel is close to the railway station and the city centre. After checking in you can receive tickets for the city transport service.
Every important monument is walking distance and the city is lovely.
The staff, especially at reception, is lovely.
There are also check-in machines that will help you register and will print your key cards.
I’m not a fan of carpet but the room was perfectly clean with a nice bathroom. The bathroom was tiny but with all that was needed.
There’s also a nice luggage rack, unfortunately only one in a room for two, but it’s spacious.
We appreciated the complimentary waters.

Wonderful receptionist on Sat and Sunday morning who was so helpful!
We managed to check in early(not guaranteed)and the room was lovely and comfortable.
The parking garage for our hire car worked well and we left it when we got the tram into town.
Cannot fault the breakfast at all and just generally all the service we received.
Nothing not to like except I miss a tea/coffee tray but maybe this isn’t something that happens in bc Grr we nan hotels.
Don’t hesitate….value for money!
