We stayed at this Minshuku during Golden Week in 2012. This ist probably the busiest week in Arita as the Arita Porcelain Festival is held during Golden Week. Actually, we had booked a room in Minshuku Arita, but when we arrived there, we were informed that we had been put up at this Minshuku which apparently is run by the same family and was closer to where the festival was held. I am very sorry to say but this was not a clean place. Scores of travellers had left their used rasors in the bathroom, the sponge there needed replacement, it was simply unacceptable. The tatatami floor room was not very clean, the tea cooker I have made photos to prove what I am saying. I have a strong stomac but this was too much. After securing alternative accomodation, we cut short our stay and left the next morning. We did not disclose the reason for our premature departure. After discussion with some of the japanese guests, I was under the impression that I was not overcharged, however, it appears to me that twice the ordinary room rate during Golden Week is a bit severe. The food was good.
