The Gran Resort Princess Fujikawaguchiko recensioner

The only good thing about this hotel is the view from the room, we paid for. The front desk is terrible. They do not provide the friendly and polite japanese customer service. They are rude and not friendly. Another stupid thing, either you book the breakfast the night before, or you do not have breakfast. The other stupid thing is that from 23:00 to 6:00 am the hotel is locked and closed so you aren’t able to enter neither get out. Remember during the summer time at 4:30 is totally day light. Rooms are old, not fully maintained and several thing were broken in our room. I do not recommend it

The hotel is very clean, the staff provides excellent service, and there is also a free shuttle to the train station. I would recommended.

Hotel can see Fuji directly!!!! But it located far away from the station which need walk around 20 minutes. 7-11 is nearby which is convenient. Hotel provided free transportation to station when u check out.

Every room is able to see Mt.Fuji view. The room is quite big and also the bathroom. There is onsen also. The onsen is quite spacious and not crowded.

Paid more for full glass sliding door with balcony however, we were given another type of room without balcony. After 15 minutes of ‘negotiating’, front desk lady with the instruction of another male front desk who said he doesn’t speak a word of English, that, the picture of the room without balcony during the booking is illustration only. Another hoo-ha in the morning on ‘table assignment’ - we took the first time slot at 7.30am for breakfast (and yes, you need to book your time slot for breakfast), was first assigned to a table close to the restaurant entrance with little view of Mt. Fuji when there were quite many window table available. Had to deal with this with three restaurant staffs for approximately 10 minutes before we were given a table by the window. What one of them said at first was, the table has been assigned by their manager, then said tables by the window were all reserved bla bla bla. Not so pleasant. We were surely not told If there’s a reservation system/ requirement when we book our time slot a day before. Room amenities is basic. In house onsen was useful after a 6 hours traveling to the hotel. Mr driver from the hotel who picked us up from Kawagunchiko bus station was very friendly and took the effort to entertain to us during our 10 minutes journey to the hotel. There’s virtually no place to walk around the hotel after dinner. I walked about 4 minutes down the slope and saw one rather large 7-Eleven and a supermarket across the main road. The hotel’s restaurant was not opened for dinner but there’s a family run local restaurant diagonally opposite the hotel that serve Japanese food, menu in the picture (menu translated by Google AI). Basic but a cozy and friendly atmosphere.

It’s about 10 mins car ride from train station to gran princess hotel. There is no pick up service or shuttle bus after 5 pm so very inconvenient esp those who are out to various attractions esp its cold wintry weather season. You can call from tourism centre between 3 pm to 5 pm. There are not many taxis around and have to wait for a long time and hotel staff does not offer help to do any booking for us and it’s wet and cold for all of us.  The morning breakfast BBQ and onsen are a plus and you can chill out otherwise it’s far to get to 7 eleven store. In house restaurant is not available if you do not book one day in advance and only have option of ordering room service which a bit pricey.

The hotel is very good with Mt.Fuji view. Easy to drive to hotel. Free parking. Room huge to stay. Good onsen in hotel. We will come back here for sure.

Unique room but needs improvement

The room is so big. Grand Resort Princess Fujikawaguchiko offers stunning views of Mount Fuji and a serene atmosphere. The location superb..wake up in the morning with mt fuji view

The view from the balcony is manigficient, right in front of Fuji Mountain. However, the checkout time is a bit early, 10am, and request for late chekout, say 11am, is not allowed, which is disappointing!
