The Royal Highland Hotel recensioner

This hotel seems to get some bad reviews but I think many are unfair. From what we experienced it was a good hotel, great location and the person who checked us in was very good. Especially as the she had to handle an awkward customer ahead of us. Bed was very big and had a good mattress. Usual stuff you want in a hotel room and nice complimentary toiletries. Location of the hotel is ideal for exploring Inverness centre, less than a 10 min walk to the most famous bank machine in Inverness (IYKYK). There is limited parking but a reasonably priced multi story car park is only a few mins walk away. Staircase in reception area leading to the first floor is also very impressive.

The Royal Highland is a former British Transport Hotel and, as such, is very well located right next to Inverness railway station. It also has much of the grandeur you expect from such historic premises. This hotel could be fabulous with some investment, but it is a little tired around the edges. However, it is clean and the service friendly and helpful. I would return!

The building is very old and make a lot of sound when you walk. Lift spolit easily. Not my ideal hotel if there is better choice

£130 pounds for a hotel without a toothbrush ! I got stuck in the elevator at night ..!But these problems need to be fixed .. It was all good

Lovely room. Clean and comfortable. Great location. Great cooked breakfast. Parking restricted but local car parks nearby.

Conveniently located; next to train station but we were not bothered by noise on the night we stayed. Hotel however is fairly old, and room is quite small and stuffy. No slippers provided.

All was great until check out. The lady behind the desk, who identified herself as the supervisor was not a very nice person. Rather rude actually. Because of her, I will be recommending my fellow MacDonald Clan to never go there. And that is so sad as everyone and everything about the hotel was awesome!

Historic and charming, this hotel was a great stay on our Scotland trip. If you are arriving or leaving Inverness by train, this hotel is right outside the station and so is very convenient.

Steps from the train station, this hotel was perfect in convenience. The lobby is gorgeous and the professional staff were personable and helpful.

The room was basic but clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. location was perfect for the local amenities. Price was fair but the details concerning the included breakfast were misleading, as the breakfast was "continental" not "full Scottish" as I had assumed however, the selection on offer was varied . I would suggest that it should be stressed when booking online, that breakfast is "continental"

Pretty clean, very close to train station. But the room is slightly small

Great place. Was warm and comfortable in the city centre with great shops and bars. Will definitely stay again.
