Situated at a beautiful central location with easy access to many of the city's historic buildings, restaurants, and information centre. Room and bedding were comfortable. Very prompt and courteous customer service Potential safety hazard for kids with very hot water supply in the showers. Continental buffet breakfast was good, and the kitchen as well as staff kept pace with the service. Has secure paid parking onsite.

Strategic location in Tasmania Launceston city area, walking distance to visitors centre, city park, Riverbend Park and nearby attractions. Breakfast and dinner are great. Hotel parking is convenient with AUD$10 rate upon checkout.

Booked this hotel cos most of the day trip pickup point. Rooms were dated, time to upgrade.

Hotel is located at the city center of Launceston. It’s old but renovated, still a bit dark in the room.

This hotel is very conveniently situated for walking into the cbd. It is slightly dated, but the rooms are spacious and beds are comfy with quality linens and premium toiletries. Everything is spotlessly clean….housekeeping staff do an excellent job. The food options are a little limited, but what we had for dinner was of high quality and nicely presented….wait staff were very attentive and efficient. Car parking was $10 per day which was very reasonable for a city hotel. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Well located property in the hear of Launceston CBD. Rooms are comfortable, simple but dated. Some lower floors have older bathrooms which have shower head and bathtub overdue for repair, but higher floors have new bathrooms which are nicer and more comfortable. Close to attractions- A must visit is the Cataract Gorge site located a short drive just outside Launceston CBD. Car parking on site which is convenient.

It was a disappointing experience stay in grand chancellor. The room is dirty, spider web on the window. Housekeeping did not vaccum the floor (bit of biscuits crumbs were drop on the floor by the kids and when we come back later the crumbs still there), dine in the restaurant and got presented with the wrong bill, it’s only because I checked otherwise will get overcharged. The most disappointing thing was, I asked for some slippers and the receptionist keep rumbling on about this is booking via third party websites and I asked “what’s that got anything to do with the slippers “? Then he said because it’s New Year’s Eve, the hotel run out of slippers. At that moment, I had enough and said “that’s fine whatever “ Ironically, the housekeeper show up with 4pairs of slippers a minute later. I won’t be coming back and would not recommend this hotel to stay, it’s a shame that Launceston is such beautiful city but hotel grand chancellor did not represent that in any way.

Good location. Paid parking available on site but limited spaces and information is somewhat confusing.

Overall service and experience was good. Old hotel but well-maintained. Only downside to this hotel room is the sound proofing. It’s really bad and we can hear talking and all kinds of sounds from neighbouring rooms every night.

The location is good and close to everything.

It's the second time I have stayed in this hotel friendly staff accept the assumption that I had covid 19 because I got room service. Wish they had a gym.. plenty of parking, wifi is good, Avis on sight very handy.

We were a bit disappointed with the room, no tea/coffee making, no mini fridge, and we had to pay for water? The bed was not very comfortable too, breakfast wasn’t included and cost us $60, a lot of money for some cereal and tea
