The location, the setting, the facilities and cleanliness is pretty good. The issue is with their service. We tried calling the reception during the working hours and there was no answer. They also did not call us back. If we are lucky, we will see a staff and get some assistance. It is important to have a car of your own otherwise it is difficult to get around in the resort. The total that the hotel charged is way more than what was shown in trip website. Even if I include the city tax it was still high. It is important to give a clear picture of the total amount of the booking. Just to put it in context, there was almost Euro 150 difference between what was shown in Trip website and the final amount that I paid to the hotel. This is a shocker for me. And of course it is not what I want to have a first experience of using Trip website. This needs to be looked into.

Vi har verkligen haft vår vistelse på Baia Azul. Detta hotell har allt! Underbar utsikt från loungen, en härlig bar med underhållning på natten, utmärkt service, härliga bekväma rum och ett mycket trevligt poolområde. Vi kan inte skylla på det! Frukosten var också härlig. Skulle definitivt stanna här igen!

The staff is friendly, the room is a good size and everything was clean. The room has a mini fridge, slippers and robes. They also provide pool towels. There is a cleaning service everyday and they change all the towels, including the ones for the pool. The bed was not the best as it was quite hard and had a spring mattress. We enjoyed the indoor pool, the jacuzzi and sauna. We haven't tried the outdoor pool as we only spent time there in the evenings. The breakfast was good. I'd come back as it was a nice experience overall.

We stayed in the hotel with group of friends. The experience was really nice — rooms are clean and design are interesting and cozy. You will have breakfast in the other hotel next door and it’s delicious. Also you can use territory of other hotel — there are really nice lounge zone, pool and sea-view. We enjoyed. Only one thing was disturbing — if you want to sleep with open windows it can be really noisy. Because of the buses (going from early morning) and loud people (who were singing and screaming drunk). But if you close the window everything is perfect. Thanks

Charming hotel with spacious and bright rooms, a well-kept garden and a wonderful view over Funchal. The property is original and very interesting, though perhaps in need of some care. The available parking is a real plus. Quiet location yet close to the city center, with always friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere, highly recommended for a pleasant stay.

Um grande agradecimento a grande equipa do hotel Golden Residence. Desde a garrafa de espumante até aos pequenos gestos como a oferta de rebuçados no check out a nossa estadia foi excelente. A piscina interior e o banho turco são um must além de piscina exterior. Os quartos são grandes, com sala e kitchnete faltando apenas a TV no quarto. Muito boa localização.

Я выбирала отель с видом на океан по доступной цене. В итоге, нашелся отель с очень просторными номерами, панорамным окном, кофе/чай, удобной ванной комнатой с биде, большим балконом. Единственные моменты: раздельная кровать для пары и слабоватый душ. Шум ночных волн на любителя:) Нам пришлось закрывать дверь на балкон, хотя и так было довольно шумно. Сервис очень дружелюбный.  Завтрак вкусный и свежий. Много выпечки, напитки, нарезки и горячее.  Не ожидала, что будет бесплатный трансфер до центра и обратно. Абсолютный плюс этого отеля, потому что находится он не в шаговой доступности от центра.  Виды, чистота возле отеля, свой пляж - это потрясающе.  Далее мы проживали в частном секторе и много что посмотрели на острове, но первые две ночи в Orca Praia остались в нашем сердечке💘 С уважением,  Елена из России

Upplevelsen på Pestana Ocean Bay var ganska trevlig. Personalen var alltid mycket vänlig och uppmärksam, och hjälpte alltid till när det behövdes. De har definitivt ett team som bryr sig om gästen, är uppmärksamma och empatiska. Jag kände mig väldigt välkommen. I ett frågeformulär jag fyllde i mitt under vistelsen nämnde jag att bufféerna kunde innehålla vindruvor (detta beror på att min dotter verkligen gillar dem, och vindruvor var en frukt som ännu inte hade kommit fram). Jag gjorde denna observation i tron ​​att den inte ens skulle läsas. Men nästa dag, när vi kom fram till vårt rum, hade vi en vacker tallrik med vindruvor. I det ögonblicket kände vi oss välkomna, som om vi vore hemma. Det var en gest av omsorg som berörde oss. Grattis till detta och för att ni faktiskt läste frågeformulären, som vi ofta tror att ingen kommer att läsa och bry sig om vad som står där. De är välorganiserade, presenterade och hanterar allt som ingår i en vistelse: måltider, kvällsunderhållning, utflykter/turer, etc. Fortsätt det utmärkta arbetet ☺️ Tack.

Very sociable kind staff who talk to you like a regular friend coming in, plain rooms but nice sized windows for the fresh air, great rooftop view alllllll over the mountain and the ocean - especially lovely at night as everything is lit up. Cute bar setup aside the pool too! Good price for its perfect location and cleanliness and covering all the basics and a bit more. Good brunch cafe just across the street facing the cafe! The staff were super helpful with setting up a late checkin too.
