Huayue Genting Hotel (Xiamen North Railway Station)

New-ish hotel, in a useful business area. Lots of lical restaurants and convenience stores, and malls within 5kms. Room was big, and clean, bed was comfy pretty good for the price. Service has good in housekeeping and breakfast areas. Breakfast was always the same but also pretty decent for the price. My first night the bedding smelt like smoke but they obviously changed it before the next night. Overall, I was happy with my experience based on how cheap the hotel was

Great location for north Xiamen railway station and there are also several convenient stores nearby. Helpful staff. Very handy to have the free ride to the railway station for my family.

Hotel provides free shuttle service to Xiamen North Train Station about 5-10min drive. Just inform front desk in advance to make the arrangements. Room is very clean & spacious. The pillows provided are very comfortable to sleep. The staff are warm, friendly & helpful. Highly recommended for those travellers who need a restful night and next day check out to train station with no traffic hassles.

The service is excellent and staff exceptionally responsive, location very close to amenities and reachable by Xiamenbei train and Tianshui metro stations (includes pick up/drop off service). However, while the staff are all kind and friendly, the hotel's management needs to take action as the building's old age and centralised air-conditioning seriously makes this hotel's 4-diamond rating very misleading at best, and undeserving at worst. Despite the interior being renovated, the ancient air-conditioning takes ages to cool. When the issue was raised, the hotel staff claimed to only be able to set the central control to either heating or cooling mode. We weren't able to sleep comfortably at what felt like 25 or 26 degrees Celsius for two separate nights, due the staff apparently having to cater to the majority of guests who felt cold; we were simply told to open the window, which was also old and not double-glazed. The sound insulation is therefore also an issue as we would hear birds chirping in the morning, and adjacent rooms' doors slamming and toilet flushing at various times. The breakfast is equally basic and bland, while the gym and rooftop in abandon, which indicates that they may just as well be saving costs with regards to the air-conditioning. Again, this is not on the staff, but more constructive feedback for the owners and managers to invest in quality and consistency - that would make this hotel actually worthy of its rating.

The location of this hotel is close to Xiamen north railway station which is very convenient to travel. The hotel also provides free ride to this station. I love the free breakfast service in this hotel (buffet style) and I think it’s really cool. You can find some street food near the hotel in the evening. The staffs were really welcoming and helpful in suggesting some family friendly activities for my family. I enjoyed my stay here and will visit again soon
