I had a wonderful stay at Fili Hotel and was truly impressed from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully designed, with modern interiors and a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere. Every detail, from the lobby to the rooms, feels thoughtfully curated and elegant.
The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was incredibly cozy, and the amenities provided made the stay even more convenient and relaxing. I also appreciated the peaceful ambiance, which made it easy to unwind.
The staff were exceptional—friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a warm smile. Their hospitality truly made the experience memorable.
The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, which I appreciated. While there were many options available, I feel there is still a little room for improvement in terms of selection and variety. That said, the food was fresh and nicely prepared.
Overall, Fili Hotel exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cebu, and I’m definitely looking forward to staying here again!

The hotel is about a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, which is true and very convenient. You're greeted with live music at the entrance. Security is present: security checkpoints, baggage scanning, and guards with dogs.
The hotel has its own beach and three entrances to the sea. The water is crystal clear, fish swim right off the shore, and life jackets are free. The hotel is very family-friendly. There are water slides, a kids' club, and a huge playroom. You can even leave your child with a nanny (for an additional fee). There are daily activities for both children and adults, including arcade machines, air hockey, and morning yoga.
Breakfast is included, and it's excellent. There are two restaurants, a huge selection of food, and everything is delicious. Even ice cream is included. After breakfast, children are given marbles—a small change, but a nice touch. Lunch and dinner are extra. There are Italian and Cantonese restaurants, as well as various buffets. There are bars on the beach, by the pool, and in the lobby. Live music plays in the evening, creating a great atmosphere. The grounds are vast: golf, mini-golf, tennis, billiards, table tennis, and badminton. Wi-Fi works great throughout the property. The staff is very friendly.
The main drawback is the renovations; they need a refresh. However, the service and infrastructure are still excellent.

Hrmmm this one is a tricky one as we had a few unexplained situations.
Firstly, the hotel itself was previously a Marriot 5-Star back in the day prior to be taken over in 2018 by the Seda Group.
Secondly, there is so much ongoing renovation and construction that you need to be aware of; Noise coming from New Construction, the in hotel pool is unavailable from Feb-2025 and guests must walk across the street to another organisation's pool. Unfortunately this was a deal breaker for us. The food was average with cheaper and better tasting food located just minutes away by walking through the carpark.
Overall the guest lounge (located on level 12) is a bonus but is super budget, not 4-Star Material.
P.S. There is no rooftop bar, only a lounge overlooking a construction site.
P.S.S The House of Lechon is 5 mins by Grab which is a plus.

We booked two rooms for 7 nights at the Sheraton Cebu Mactan. We are two families traveling together with three young children and a pregnant wife. We were excited for a relaxing vacation, but after just 4 days, we wanted to check out early.
The hotel agreed to refund only one room (around 900–1000 USD), but refused to refund the second room. This decision was made even though the hotel is completely full (Chinese New Year, peak season). Our rooms could have been sold to other guests immediately, so there was no financial risk to the hotel.
Why We Wanted to Leave Early:
1. Food Issues (Very Important for Muslim Families)
The hotel is in an isolated location with no restaurants nearby. The on-site restaurants serve mostly spicy Asian food, often containing pork. As Muslim families with young children, we cannot eat spicy food or pork. This made every meal a struggle.
2. Transportation (A Nightmare)
Getting a taxi is extremely difficult.
· When we wanted to leave the hotel to go to the city, we often waited over an hour for a taxi.
· When we tried to return to the hotel from the city (like Cebu), we waited up to 2 hours because drivers refuse to come to this hotel.
· Even within the Mactan area, finding a taxi was not easy.
· The hotel offers a transfer service, but it costs 2–3 times more than a regular taxi. For a family, this is not a practical solution.
3. Maintenance Issues
On the very first day, we reported that the sink was clogged – water drained very slowly. We were promised it would be fixed. After 3 days, nothing had been done.
On day 3, I personally told the General Manager, Mr. Robin Bernard, about the problem. He said: ”No problem, I will solve it.”
But even after his promise, nothing happened.
Finally, on day 4, housekeeping came to our room. We showed them the problem by running the water. They saw it immediately and called an engineer, who fixed it within 20 minutes.
Mr. Bernard's promise meant nothing. The regular staff fixed it.
Our Conversation with Management
We requested an early checkout. Mr. Ross Bautista genuinely tried to help us. He suggested a possible refund for one room and arranged a meeting with his superior to discuss our case.
That meeting was with General Manager Robin Bernard. Here is what happened:
· He claimed he ”knew the situation”, but could not explain any details. We had to tell him everything again: about the children, the pregnant wife, the food, the transportation.
· Throughout the conversation, he was arrogant and condescending. It felt like he was not listening, just waiting for us to finish.
· We explained that the hotel was fully booked (Chinese New Year, peak season), so letting us leave early would not hurt his business. The rooms would be sold again immediately.
· His response was shocking. He looked at us and said, word for word:
”You should not think about my business. It's my concern.”
Then, one minute later, when we asked for understanding, he said:
”I have to think about my business.”
There is no logic. It felt like he just wanted to show his power and punish us for asking.
The result? Nothing changed. Ross Bautista tried, but his hands were tied. Robin Bernard simply confirmed his original decision and showed zero empathy.
As long as Mr. Robin Bernard is the General Manager, we will never return to this hotel. His arrogance, empty promises, and complete lack of care for families with children and special dietary needs are destroying the reputation of this Sheraton.
To other Muslim families or anyone traveling with young children: I strongly recommend choosing a different hotel. Here, your needs will be ignored if the manager does not feel like helping.

All bookings at Nustar Resort include breakfast and access to the Executive Club Lounge located on the 23rd floor of Fili Hotel.
Mini-Bar is complimentary with a selection of 2 local beers, juices, and sodas. Nespresso machine with 4 capsules. TWG tea. Bottled water is unlimited. I appreciate the fridge being very cold.
Gerlain Paris branded bathroom amenities, as well as bath salts for the large bath.
Afternoon Tea (2:30 pm - 4:30 pm)
Light snacks with a limited selection of savory and sweet bites, they need to improve on this.
Evening cocktails and canapés (5:30 pm - 7:30 pm)
Excellent food buffet. I like the lechon quesadillas, jalapeño cheese poppers, and siomai. I appreciate the bartender crafting cocktails from a menu of drinks.
I understand the hotel is still brand new, but they need to do multiple inspections before releasing the room to guest. Vanity mirror was dusty from construction.
The Butler service was very attentive, many thanks to Ice (Butler) for making my stay pleasant, he would escort me to the pool, and even breakfast buffet at Fili Hotel bypassing the crowd at the entrance.
Breakfast Buffet is at Fili Hotel which is extensive and one of the best in Cebu. The problem is the crowd, while Nustar Butlers will escort Nustar guests to a table, there’s no dedicated tables for Nustar guests, which confuses the restaurant staff with seating assignments. Alternatively, the breakfast buffet at the executive club lounge is quiet but with limited options, they should have an a la carte menu to expand options like other international luxury hotels.
The security at the lobby entrance is wildly inconvenient and inconsistent, every time you enter you need to prove you’re a guest of Nustar and not a guest of Fili or a casino player. It’s weird that they are sometimes overly strict and many times just ignore people passing by. Guests have a keycard to use elevators what’s the point of the guards that have a list of people’s names and room numbers, if anything that’s a security risk.
The pool service is lacking. Shared between 2 hotels and the upcoming grand summit. The pool area lacks service of a 5-star hotel, towels need to be claimed at a towel hut. My expectation is that there are staff that will setup loungers with towels for guests. And since the pool facility is shared with the muncher large Fili Hotel it can get crowded. Fortunately, Nustar has a private infinity pool which was closed my stay.
Nustar Resort has potential to be Cebu’s most luxurious hotel, they have the hard product with their spacious luxurious rooms, but they need to improve their soft product - the service from the butlers are outstanding and personal, but everyone else seems to be lost. For the asking price of 250-300 usd per night there’s a lot to expect.
Nustar is primed for excellence but falls just short of achieving refined luxury. I’m hoping Nustar partners with Marriott and rebrand under Luxury Collection. Or even Hyatt with Unbound Collection.

I enjoyed my stay in Crimson Resort, the room is big and spacious for families, the staff are friendly and well trained, the four pools are huge and fun and the daily breakfast is delicious. We especially enjoyed the foam party at adult pool and Crimzone pool, the playground in Crimsone, the seaweed collection activity, snorkeling and the complete amenities of the room. Cebu beach is so pretty. Big shout-out to Clint in breakfast for his very warm service to me and my daughter.
Cons:
- There was no housekeeping done on 2nd day of my stay which was not informed to me in advance, I think that was not professional.
- They don’t allow food delivery in but the food in the resort is not that delicious to be had everyday (I tried sisig, inasal and pizza).
- You need grab or taxi to go out to Cebu city (and face the jam) as the shuttle only runs 3x a day, so it’s not convenient if you want to explore Cebu.

Som ett nybyggt hotell är faciliteterna fantastiska. Infinitypoolen är vacker, och poolen bredvid var perfekt för avkoppling. Den privata stranden var också fin, med rent vatten och massor av fisk att se.
De sa att frukosten var utsökt, men förutom brödet var det inte så bra. Utrymmet är litet, så det är väntetid under rusningstid. Och även om de flesta i personalen var vänliga, var säkerhetsvakterna riktigt otrevliga. Haha. Jag höll nästan på att klaga, men jag höll tillbaka.
Rummen var rena, och duschfiltren var ett måste. De påstår att de alla har havsutsikt, men jag hade delvis havsutsikt. Hmm... Jag vet inte vad skillnaden är. Ändå njöt jag av utsikten över nyårsfyrverkerierna.
Den enda nackdelen är att det egentligen inte finns något i närheten, så man måste förlita sig på leverans eller Grab. Det är två byggnader, så om man gör fel måste man ta hissen till lobbyn och sedan ta hissen ner igen för att komma dit. Det är så irriterande...

Stayed for 2 nights with my family — our first time to try the new building/wing — and it truly exceeded our expectations. We were given two adjacent rooms with a common access area, making it feel like we were staying in our own private suite. The rooms were impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and very comfortable. The pool view from our rooms was soothing and relaxing, setting the perfect tone for a family getaway.
Breakfast at the 12th floor was a delightful experience. We used to dine at Abalone in the OJ Wing during previous stays, but this time was extra special — great variety, excellent food quality, and warm, attentive staff who made the morning even more pleasant.
The service throughout the resort was consistently exceptional — from check-in, housekeeping, and dining staff, everyone was courteous, welcoming, and always ready to help. Facilities are well-maintained, and the entire environment truly makes it feel like a premium family vacation destination.
Highly recommended for family bonding and leisure. Thank you, JPark, for another memorable stay. We’ll definitely be back soon! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

There is a range of facilities that you can enjoy. Some are free some are paid. There are activities scheduled everyday. Everywhere in the resort there is an activity that you can enjoy. The resort is clean and quiet(You can really relax). Staffs are polite and well trained. Food is just average. Very good spa services. Highly recommend this place. Overall this is a good value place for money. For a resort, prices are very reasonable.

However some front desk receptionists were kind od more accommodating and more careful to foreign guests as compared to co filipinos which supposed to be fair regardless of who you are. I suggest more training on this.

GGästanvändareWow - Super hotel. Best hotel I have visited in years. Staff polite, efficient and attentive in a polite way. Room was very large, with some free mini cookies and a few free juices. Food and drinks reasonable. Breakfast had a great range of food. The steak at the restaurant was super They even notified breakfast group I could not take milk. Lots of couples but as a solo traveller felt cared about. From start to finish flawless. Even twice a week one hour of free cocktails. When it rains the staff already start wiping down tables and once eases gardeners are out sweeping the leaves off the pathways to help maintain its beautiful appearance. Seriously impressed
DDans travelFantastiskt hotell precis vid Alona-stranden, tillräckligt långt från bullret men tillräckligt nära för att gå till restauranger och barer. Bodde i ett rum med strandutsikt, stort och rent med den bästa strandutsikten av alla hotell jag bott på. Infinitypoolen i skymningen kändes som om poolen var ansluten till havet. Det är också en av de bästa takpoolerna av alla hotell jag bott på och med den tillhörande poolbaren ett utmärkt ställe att njuta av en cocktail eller öl i poolen medan man tittar på solnedgången. Personalen var verkligen vänlig och hjälpsam. De enda sakerna att notera som kunde förbättras är att badhanddukarna var av lägre kvalitet än jag hade förväntat mig på ett hotell på den här nivån och kaffet till frukost var hemskt, som tur var hade rummet en Nespressomaskin.
