"A comfortable, well located hotel in the heart of Appenzell. This is not a fancy hotel. Our room was a large 2 room suite that was clean and quiet. Breakfast was on the sparse side. You could soft boil your own egg but other than that there were no hot entrees. It was mostly cold cuts, cheeses and breads. There is no air conditioning so, as it was slightly warm when we visited. We opened the windows. There was paid parking only in public parking lots if you are driving as we were. The building has an unusual layout. "

"This typical Swiss chalet style hotel sits on Appenzell’s main square. Convenient to all areas of this little town you do not need a car. We had a Junior Suite (which are the largest of the hotel) consisting of an ample open plan room with a sofa and 2 armchairs, a writing desk and a very generous bathroom and closet area. As so common in many Swiss hotels AC is not available. The restaurant has AC and serves typical Swiss quality food from a menu with many choices. Breakfast is basic and served buffet style. WIFI works well and staff are trained."

"Jag har stannat här tre nätter och njutit av allt.Jag stannade i ett enda rum, det är kompakt men mycket anständigt storlek för en ensam resenär.Det är rent, bekvämt och behagligt. Även om det redan är maj, sjönk temperaturen till enskilda siffror under min vistelse så jag uppskattar verkligen att mitt rum fortfarande var bekvämt varmt.Det var frukostserverat 7-10am varje morgon; bara ljus kontinental stil men tillräckligt. Hotellet är smakfullt dekorerat och all personal jag träffade har varit riktigt söt och snäll.De kanske inte är på receptionen hela tiden men du kan nå dem via telefonen på mottagaren och de kommer att vara över mycket snart. Läget är också bra, knappt 5 minuters promenad från tågstationen och 7mins promenad till supermarknaden (COOP).Jag rekommenderar detta hotell utan tvekan."

"From the moment we arrived in this charming town and saw the facade of the Hotel Appenzell, I felt as if I had truly arrived in Switzerland. We only stayed for one night but it was a delightful place to stay. Our room was large with Old World Charm. We ate dinner in their dining room and it was very good. Breakfast was also good and before we left we went to their bakery area and they made sandwiches for us to take with us to eat on our train trip. We took a great hike up above Appenzell where we had great views of the whole area. We would definitely recommend a stay here!"
