"Great stay at the Annexe in Gosfield.The room is essentially all you need in one including an ensuite bathroom, there is no cooker, but a microwave is provided. There was an iron and hair dryer, towels and some cereals and milk and cream.in the fridge, tea and coffee (unsure if the milk is put in there before check in or from guests before, either way it was in date and fresh). It's a self check-in and details are sent through email. I would recommend getting in contact with the owners directly rather than through any booking site. There is also parking available. In terms location, if you drive its pretty much and hour or two away from Halstead, London, Waltham Abbey, Colchester and Braintree. In terms of food, there is a restaurant by the entrance I highly recommend called "The Apple Tree" and uber delivers from Braintree or Halstead, Dominoes etc. We were there for a wedding and I have to say everything provided was exceptional. Dealt mainly with Linda, who was very helpful and friendly. Price is good too even for 2 nights, one night at Gosfield Hall cost more than two nights at the annexe. I will definitely be back as its a nice stay and getaway. Sofa bed and double bed and TV in room too. The view is great and looks out onto the lake, the Annexe is a private property that I found on *********** but the rest is mainly a campsite hence some of the reviews. Very clean and quiet with a peaceful atmosphere. The walls are a bit thin as there's two rooms (annexe is split in half) so be councious of your neighbours. I will bookmark this place and revisit again at some point as its one of the best properties ive stayed at."
