Hotel Saint Christophe

"I had an extremely disappointing and distressing experience at Hotel Saint Christophe in Calvi. What began as a normal stay turned into an upsetting incident due to the behavior of the hotel manager, which I believe prospective guests should be aware of. During our stay, the manager unexpectedly entered our room while we were out and proceeded to throw away personal items, including my stomach medication and food that I had brought with me for health reasons. These were not perishable items left out carelessly, but personal supplies stored appropriately. This was done without any prior warning or communication. When I tried to understand what had happened, instead of receiving a polite explanation, the manager responded by yelling and harassing my girlfriend in a manner that was completely inappropriate and aggressive. There was no apology or attempt to calmly discuss the issue. His behavior was unprofessional and intimidating. Apparently, the hotel has internal rules that prohibit guests from eating or drinking anything in the room, including coffee, which was surprising. These rules were not clearly communicated at the time of booking or check-in, nor were they displayed prominently in the room in any language. If we had been informed of these unusual restrictions, we would have happily complied or chosen different accommodation better suited to our needs. Instead of a courteous reminder or a simple conversation, the management chose to escalate the situation by invading our privacy, discarding personal belongings (including medication), and confronting us in a hostile manner. This kind of treatment is not acceptable in any hospitality setting. While the hotel location and view may be good, none of that compensates for the disrespectful and aggressive behavior we experienced. I urge future guests to be aware of the hotel’s unspoken rules and to consider whether this is the kind of atmosphere they want during their stay in Calvi. I rarely write negative reviews, but in this case I feel it is important to share our experience so others can make an informed decision."

"Modernt hotell med rymliga och välutrustade rum (luftkonditionering, dusch, kylskåp, säkerhetsvagn, hårtork, ljusare alla i goda arbetsförhållanden) som har en estetisk dekoration. Det ser ut som en renovering som har gjorts nyligen eller de har upprätthållit den senaste renoveringen mycket väl.Vi har verkligen haft det trevligt att stanna här. De flesta rum har en utsikt över byggnadens vägg vid dörren, men om man är villig att betala för den stora prisskillnaden är ett rum med havsutsikt möjligt.Jag är glad att gå utan utsikten. Dessutom är stranden bokstavligen precis bakom hotellet och lätt tillgänglig från hotellets parkeringsplats.Dessutom är platsen perfekt som jag upptäckte.Det är ungefär 15 minuters promenad till stan (mestadels lägenhet) och man kan därför bara lämna bilen på hotellet. Personalen vid receptionen är alla vänliga och detaljerade förklaringar om hur och var man ska utforska gavs vid incheckning. "

"We were six and we lay three of the four bedrooms. All with own bathroom. Kitchen includes the most necessary. Great terrace with enough bedrooms. dining table outside and inside with enough chairs. Small private mini-pool directly at the house is safe."

"Mycket bra placerad och topp värd! Studio satisfaisant. However, 4 chairs of gardens were located in the small studio, which took almost a large part of the place while it was necessary to lower the bed. Hôtel Sole Mare

"The hotel is well located near a small beach and very close to the citadel; everything is within walking distance. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The pool is nice. We booked the budget room, but this room is very poorly located because, at the hotel entrance, the window has frosted glass (when open, there's a lot of foot traffic and the smell of cigarettes from people smoking as soon as they leave the hotel; when closed, it's very dark and therefore very dark). The room is quite damp because it can't be properly ventilated. The layout makes the room dark and gives it a "boxy" feel; there's a loggia with a table and the window (it can't really be called a veranda). However, at night it's light inside because of the lights from the hotel entrance; there are no shutters, just a curtain between the room and the loggia. This room should be avoided for several nights; it's only suitable for short stays. Breakfast is good quality, but it's not self-service (one pastry and one roll, one fruit compote, one yogurt, clementine juice – no extra bread provided). Parking is available for an additional fee. The hotel is fairly quiet once guests have left; except for the last night when the night porter was quite noisy with his very late-night phone conversations!"
